Everyone has probably heard this , as the research on alcohol shows alcohol effects REM sleep quite significantly
I found this research showing in heavy thc users , cannabis effects REM sleep,
This study used thc cannabis so not sure cbd would apply, regular weed does at all strains , it appears
goes into say that people with PTSD have nightmares in REM sleep, and it reduces these, so this is how it could be useful for PTSD
That said, Deep stages of REM is preferred for better health, better growth hormone release, body repair, and mental well being,
probally a good idea to take a day here or there off sometimes for better health, or of course even longer if you want or it happens
