So, this was something I had previously posted deep within another thread, and it didn't get much notice from too many people. I think that it is a very, very interesting theory, and will obviously affect many of us who enjoy the ability to regularly use very potent strains:

"Now that you mention this, I was watching a documentary on BBC America over here, called "Should I Smoke Dope?"(weed dope not H lol). It was about a BBC reporter who was basically a weed virgin, living in Amsterdam and working at a hash cafe for a month, partaking in weed daily as a sort of study. It was rather interesting, but the point is, at the end, she went to a center for psychological and mental health, something like that(it was an officially-recognized british medical establishment I believe).

They were doing a study they allowed her to participate in, basically, they administered(via needle, I believe it was intravenous not intramuscular) THC and the associated Cannibinoids, so she received all the elements she would from taking a "normal hit" of good weed. They had rated her mental state of health on the standardized test while she was sober, she scored a normal 1. She scored a bit higher, but still "mentally healthy" 3 when stoned as if from smoking weed(this was at the end of her month, so she was acclimated to being high)--I believe 4 or 5 was where psychosis began on the scale, albeit very mild.

Well, the next part of the test was administered 5-6 or so days later, and was just THC, to study what role the cannibinoids play, and why some people(who may not process said cannibinoids normally when partaking in marijuana) react so negatively to a drug WIDELY considered almost miracle-like. Well, it was instantly clear that it was much, much worse without the c-noids. She was clearly physically and mentally uncomfortable as soon as it kicked in. When the psychological test was administered, THIS TIME she scored something like a 13-14, which is considered manifestations of somewhat severe schizophrenia---keep in mind, she scored "mentally healthy" when injected with the same amount of THC previously, just WITHOUT associated c-noids this time. Some interesting food for thought about what some of these chemicals could do if some people can't process all elements of the drug correctly."

Now, personally, I think this can explain A LOT. Keep in mind, many growers of fine skunk are vigorously working to up the THC, without any thought to the associated c-noids. Many of you guys are incredibly intelligent and thoughtful about things like this, so I was just looking for what you guys think about this theory. Is THC alone the important part? Many people don't realize we already have cannibinoids in our body(or is it just cannibinoid analogues?), which is what allows most of us to process weed pleasantly. I had previously heard ideas that weed wouldn't be enjoyable to people that don't have those, so, is it possible that these people that have extreme reactions to marijuana, just don't have the necessary cannibinoids? Why the hell does marijuana have to be so not-scientifically-studied? It's the most interesting drug IMO, and with some of the least research done. Anyway, like Mike Myers' character from Coffee Talk on SNL--I gave you a topic, discuss amongst yourselves.

i know the documentary you mean.

IT WAS IN ABSOLUTELY NO WAY SCIENTIFICALLY DONE. AT ALL.

there is absolutely no way that the injection she recieved contained all of the chemicals that are active
in cannabis smoke upon inhalation. why?
well, for one, nobody knows what they even all ARE. how can you even begin to isolate and extract/synthesize compounds when you dont know what they are?

the documentary was a fucking shambles. such as at the beginning-
she is given SOUND ADVICE from a woman who KNOWS what she is talking about;
"take just one or two SMALL puffs, wait about ten minutes, see how you feel, and smoke more if you like."

she chose to be a MORON and ignore that advice completely, powered right through the joint,
and ended up feeling sick and freaked out. (the doob contained tobacco by the way. as far as I know she didnt even smoke cigs)
HMM. WHAT A FUCKIN SURPRISE EH?
the ganj in the coffeeshop is far stronger than what was most likely weak as fuck schwag she smoked "back in her day".

the women is a twat, a twollop.
this is the same woman who didnt wash, bathe, brush her teeth, or anything, for a MONTH.
"all in the name of science".
wouldnt you know, THAT one wasnt accurately & scientifically done either?

now, im not against this documentary for criticizing cannabis, not at all!
if anything i think its good that we are having public opinion challenged in such ways,
and we NEED to have more study done on our drug-of-choice to accurately determine the long term mental and physical effects.

what im against is the fact it was terribly done, was not done in any true scientific manner,
was done by a twit-brained middle aged FANDAN who knows absolutely jack-all on the matter,
and surprise surprise;
MADE BY THE BBC. aka the BRITISH BULLSHIT CORPORATION.
the very SAME corporation who came on here to recruit people for a docu about "legal highs",
met a member from here, and highly edited their footage to make him look like a complete tit.

when the presenter, that idiot George Lamb, said "we want to make a fair, even handed documentary about legal highs in the UK".
it was anything but. they couldnt have chosen more idiotic morons to follow in the show if they had tried.
moronic hippy wannabes in Camden who guzzle legal pills "cos it gets you dunted and its legal innit."
moronic teens in Guernsey who think they are cool, sitting in cars smoking Cannabinoid Blends out of a bottle,
"cos it gets you high just like weed and its legal innit."

next time you chose to watch anything the BBC makes, always know there is a background agenda to tow the party line,
and scrutinize it heavily when watching it.

oh and PS; WHO THE FUCK INJECTS THC???

Do you have a link to that footage? (Or does anybody else?)

I'm not calling you out, I'm just interested in seeing how BlueLight was (mis)represented.

For the record, this documentary was terrible. It seemed ridiculously biased against marijuana and marijuana users from the start.

would be nice if there was some data on this. would have implications for things like "marinol" too

unfortunately society isn't ready yet to allow legal sale of a THC & CBD & cannabinoids blend and a pure THC blend. which slows both research and those of us wanting to get high!

I've got a link to the thread, you can probably dig up the video with this as a lead. Check post #5.

OP... read your post in another thread... I think the reason it didn't get much attention is because the source was bad.

yeah, sorry guys! Being from America, I'm not too familiar with the BBC and their agendas. Obviously the show itself was biased, and the lady was definitely a complete and utter twat. But the last part at the end, at least seemed to have some hint of scientific process to it, especially being run by an actual medical association; again, I didn't research the source or anything, just thought this all seemed interesting...even if the research was anecdotal and biased, I think that they really are onto something about the THC/cannibinoid combination...as I said, I've read other theories alluding to the same possibility. But, I wholly agree with the poster who said----> Who the FUCK injects weed?!?!

Well, hey, ya know...That's why I asked you bluelighters haha! I can always count on you guys to be forthcoming with info fa' sho'. My extent of knowledge of the BBC is Doctor Who, but I usually watch that online 'cause fuckin' BBC America is a bunch of fucks that edit the episodes for time so they can show more commercials...I think they show it normal on the first run, that's it. Plus, fuck waiting the two or so weeks for it to come on over here haha.
