Thatcher's dead

Whatever your ideological background and whatever political disagreement you might have had when she was in power, rejoicing over the death of an elderly woman is quite crass, at the end of the day she wasn't active in policy making anymore.

Having said that one of the reasons the UK experienced a boom in the ninenties was due to her economic policies in the eighties, Britain remained competitive in the global economy thanks to the liberalization initiated by her, deregulation, small government, low taxes and free trade all contributed to the high rates of growth the UK witnessed in the post-Thatcher era.

I think she was a lot more liked abroad than domestically, if she resurrects and comes back as a zombie, box her up and ship her south, we'd welcome her with open arms, it beats the mafia-papist-crooked politicians we have here. We could do with some genuine deregulation of our economic system, too much red tape that discourages entrepreneurship, punitive tax regimes that drive businesses abroad.

I think that post is very poor taste. This is a nice thread for nice people to discuss nice things. Nicely.

"Woo-hoo!" =D

Thatcher's death is a bit of a non-event. I'm sure lots of people thought she was already dead.
