Thatcher's dead

Spitting Image - I Did It My Way

My whole family were fierce Thatcher supporters. Growing up as the only leftie in a family full of tories = leaving home at the earliest opportunity (16).

While pissing around as a student and working at the same time, I didn't pay my Poll Tax. They hunted me down for a whole year, and I managed to avoid them finding where I lived when I moved, for at least a year. Even my employer at the time refused to give them my addy, and all the databases of the different departments weren't really linked back then so I managed to give em the slip for ages. That was until they went round to my parent's house for the 2nd time, and my adorable Dad informed them of my latest addy and grassed me up without batting an eyelid.

Fuck Thatcher, and fuck shitty parents.

That's terrible marmalade. Where have you been hiding?

'Ken Capstick told ITV he texted Mr Scargill "Thatcher dead" and he responded instantly "Scargill alive".'

Police officer resigns over Margaret Thatcher tweets

Sergeant Jeremy Scott, who allegedly wrote he hoped Lady Thatcher's death was painful, quits Met force

A police officer who allegedly tweeted that he hoped the death of Lady Thatcher was "painful and degrading" has resigned from the Metropolitan police...

Scott is alleged to have greeted the demise of Thatcher, saying her death was "87 years too late" and writing that the world was a "better place"...

The Met said the officer served in an operational support role and had reported himself to the force's directorate of professional standards on Wednesday, after the story broke. Scott's alleged tweets were published by the Mail on Thursday evening.

In reaction to so-called death parties that greeted the former prime minister's death on Monday, Scott reportedly tweeted: "Marvellous stuff! Margaret Thatcher's death greeted with street parties in Brixton and Glasgow."

He attacked other politicians, allegedly posting: "Goodnight Twitter. The world is a better place today now that c*** is dead. Now for Cameron, May and Osborne."

Apparently there was a copper in the country worth pissing on if on fire. Until he got outed by the Heil and sacked anyway.

oh thank alasdairm for bluelight!

I love all the facebook stuff. People i know with their "gotta love her" attitudes. One person i know had a status "thatcher is a big icon for british history and for women think about it"to which I responded that i don't do icons and that there is more hatred for her than if she were a man blah blah. same old story divide and rule.

the response to this being "don't agree with you and besides we need rule" i would love to post my real intent here "I am not part of the we you talk of" or speak for yourself sort of thing. i don't need ruling kind of thing. The Beeb are treating ding dong like it's relax or something. they play so much shit on radio one anyway.

hay ho off you go to the eternal fires of hell.

My grannie is my icon. she did not divide her family to make them the great people that they are today. she will not be dying alone in a hotel room. I'm sick of the sight of her to tell you the truth. Not my cup of tea at all at all.

Someone disagrees with me, must be because of some evil game the masters of the country are playing to make people think incorrectly!! People don't naturally disagree on everything ranging from politics to how much sugar to put in their tea or anything, so it must be a conspiracy.

I got away without paying poll tax for my whole 4 years as a student. I just did not fill in the form to register for it. Like you say, before they days of 'online intercommunications and databases' or w/e they didnt have a chance.

I still feel a bit of a smug twat for that one.

Even I can admit I must have been a crazy bitch for that policy!

Speaks English/Sound transparent and reliable legal system/Plenty of auxiliary firms on hand.

Let's not forget that I did create the so-called 'Big Bang' though. Without liberation of exchange controls, we wouldn't have become a hub for that. Without an easing of taxes down from 80% on high earners, they would have relocated to a better jurisdiction. Without a removal of barriers to foreign firms setting up shop in London, we wouldn't have had hundreds of players in the banking sector pouring into London. In the 70s we were hemorrhaging top traders to places like New York, by the 80s they were coming back.

Complete rubbish, but dont let facts get in the way of an arument

Most of those " Essex boys" that Maggie championed so much and the ones that got city jobs cos of her " opening up the city" went the same way she wanted them to.

When her big boy german banks came into the city the good old english boys were left without a job, went from billingsgate fish traders sons to "rich now, poor sooner" types

Most left the city on the late 80's and early 90's, so dont pretend ENGLISH people profited from her policy, if anything the French education system did, because they managed to crank out craploads of bankers who were a product of the french education system, an education system that is brilliant at pumping out quantitative economics masters degrees who are hoovered up by the likes of Morgan Stanley

The English were left behind

Bottom line
The City profited

English people didnt
So basically she not only fucked over the miners in the UK, she fucked over MANY who were smart and wanted to get into banking who were from the UK

Conservatism inna nutshell.

Makes me so mad. this country really could have been something if not for her

Most of the oil spikes in price and commodity speculation and the Austrian economic model , im fine with that

Bur she really got her beak into everything and when she said " i can be a backseat driver" it was laughable

'We'll only play five seconds of Ding Dong The Witch is Dead': Bungling BBC's chart show fudge as row over Thatcher protest single escalates

Comedy bit being...

Meanwhile counter-protesters have today launched a late campaign to encourage people to buy: 'I'm In Love With Margaret Thatcher', a 1980 punk single by the Notsensibles.

For those that haven't heard it (ie the Thatcherite morons who somehow thought a punk song mentioning Maggie in the title would be flattering :D)...

notsensibles - I'm in Love with Margaret Thatcher

Lyrics...

I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher
I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher
I'm in love ...with Maggie T
I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher
I'm in love with Margaret Thatcher
I'm in love ...with Maggie T

Oh Margaret Thatcher is so sexy
She's the girl for you and me
I go red when she's on the telly
'Cos I think she fancies me

I want to make some money out of her death. It's what she would have wanted. Isn't a state funeral one of those you get on the DWP ? The paying for her funeral should come out of mark n carol's inheritance. I suppose the inheritance tax will cover it. I wonder what room she died in? Next time I'm at the ritz I won't be staying in that room/suite.

what on earth is the liberal media jibbering on about? its not just people in the city that benefitted from huge financial organisations swooping in, our entire modern office-based economy is directly attributable to thatcher's policies. 'this country could've been great' dont talk bollocks, the country was going down the the shitter, she turned that around and made it so we can work in offices instead of mineshafts. go and look at the financial sector as a percentage of our gdp. posh boys in the city are an irrelevance
