Well, they say it's the biggest party night of the year. Do you guys partake in the whole charade of bar hopping on Thanksgiving Eve?

This will probably be the first time since I was 18 or so that I am not going out to the bars tonight, likely because I don't drink like a fish anymore.

Oh, and is it as big by you as it is in NY?

I'm from New York too, and never really looked at it as a party type of night. Usually it's just Thanksgiving, family gets together and has a big dinner type of thing. I never really had much of a family, always been just me and my mom, and since she passed away last year it's just me and my father. Thanksgiving doesn't mean a thing to me. Celebrations don't really mean a thing to me, I guess cause I never grew up in a house that celebrated that much. My mother always tried making the best of things for me, she's celebrate holidays to give me a more normal upbringing, but none of it really matters to me nowadays as it did when I was younger.

I think the most I'd do even if I was celebrating on Thanksgiving eve is have 2 or 3 beers and smoke a blunt or two, nothing special.

it's a big party night not because everyone is celebrating thanksgiving, but because nobody has to work tomorrow, and its not a big important religious holiday like christmas or easter that you have to spend the whole day with the family, you can lay in bed with a hangover until 1 o'clock and still make it to family dinner by 2!

But yeah, it's pretty big around here too (well, we are sort of in the same area-ish i guess). I am the opposite, I used to go out a few years ago but have since stopped, and think I actually may partake tonight. For some reason I'm in the mood again...

I used to go to Webster Hall on Thanksgiving eve.
I sure didn't feel too swift by Thanksgiving.

I think it is also a big deal because everyone is home from college at the same time, and only for a few days. It's not like winter break where some schools finish earlier than others, and the only overlap you may have is the week of Christmas-New Years which is all family stuff, with the exception of NYE.

Thanksgiving Eve is like the perfect night where nobody has anything else to do but get hammered, then you have a family day, a shopping day, then you head back to school. It's like the Bermuda Triangle or something around here. Bars will let you smoke in them (and NY is so strict against it), you can drink if you are 18 and have a college I.D, it's some real international waters type of shit. I think the trains are even free this night, and you can get free cab rides.

I remember one year I was like 18, and I lost my phone in the bar. I had to have my dad drive me there the next day, and it was so awkward walking in sober and asking if they found my phone, when I was so clearly underage.

Its definitely not a party night here in arkansas. I just wish someone with some chronic around here would answer their mother fucking phones or get back to me. Does everyones drug dealers take off on the holidays?

It is pretty big around here. In the past I would party it up but tonight I'm gonna stay in. One year my brother and I had some meth and partied all night then went to dinner and fell fast asleep shortly after eating. Good times those were.

i still managed to get H and acid even with the holiday =P but i really had no clue about it being a big party day. im not a party-er anyways but i still thought i would have heard of such a thing. must not be a big deal in these parts i guess.

Damn TommyBoy that is funny you say thanksgiving eve is a big party day. I never thought about it like that but it is. So I went to the bars thanksgiving eve. My normal local five bar. The line was gonna take an 1 1/2 hours to get in. I have never seen a line so I was like fuck this im out!. but yeah it makes sense because all the college kids are home at the same time unlike Christmas so everyone goes out.

Amateur night.

People who don't typically go out will go out the night before Thanksgiving because friends they haven't seen for some time are all back in the same area.

I like to lay low Wednesday/Thursday and eat until I sleep all the while gaining strength for the upcoming weekend. The bars are much more tolerable.
