Hi there..Ive been reading on and off for a few years and have finally joined. I am an addict for 23 years. My poison is Morphine. Ms Contin got me started when i was 18. A friend had some and i was introduced first time to the grey ghosts (100mg). I went to my Dr and asked for a script of Ms Conan! He said "Do you mean Ms Contin?" and i said "yeah maybe" and walked out with a script. The whole box went in 2 days! I still cant believe that i get the name wrong and he still gave them. Well it was the worst thing i did. I had never had an opiate ever and i went straight to the top.
And i dont blames the Drs that have fed me over the years. I am an excellent liar unfortunately. Drs dont stand a chance. Though they are much tougher in Melb than NSW.
I ended up being able to tolerate a whole box of 28 X 100mgtabs alone in 12 hrs. I had a huge tolerance and still do. Ive been clean 4 months in Melbourne. I am on 115 mg Methadone a day to help. And it does.
Ive been reading this forum for years, admittadely to get safe info on what i could and couldnt do. Or should and shouldnt! At some stages ive been pretty desperate and alone and its ( Bluelight) been a blessing. Now i feel able to contribute. I am 37yrs old and have been living the life a long time now. Gee not keen about the weight im putting on the "Done" tho! I was very skinny and sick four months ago. iI would get a script and b in withdrawal 24 hrs later i was such a pig! I have been on Subutex 11 years ago Soboxone and now Methadone!
So thats a brief bit about me. Its a bit weird as I feel I know a few of you well as ive been reading you all for so long!
Anyway..I will shut up now..

Hi Miss kirsty It takes guts to straight up ask a doctor before you know what you had gotten into good luck with the methadone
 
Yeah...I was extremely young then..It was easy because i didnt know what i was doing if you know what i mean. I had no idea about drugs. Ive been a Dr shopper for 15 years and learnt some dos and donts along the way. I am on the Dept Health "No go" list now. Well i was 4 mths ago anyways! I havent tried to get any oxyies for over 4 mths now so am not sure if im still on it. Its one of the biggest humiliations for me, to go to a Dr and he/she picks me for what I am immediately. I happens...Some will hand them over to a patient they have never seen before if you can talk the talk. Some know straight away that im an addict.
The methadone is working nicely for me ATM. I still think about it when i pass a surgery that i could score from. Its very hard to get it out of my head.

The first time i cleaned up i was on Subutex. It was very new here then (Australia). But in 10 easy days i was home free. The subutex worked a treat. I had no withdrawals whatsoever. I was an out patient at a clinic in Surry Hills Syd, Aust. I stayed clean a few years, got a toothache and hey presto I was on 60 mg oxycontin am/pm...Started whacking them again and been struggling since! I dint like soboxone. i was on 16mg a day for months, i used on it often also. Now the Done..They wont do subutex here in Victoria for takeaways as apparently subutex can be abused. More so than soboxone with the naltrexane in it. Though i gave the soboxone a good go, it wasnt for me. Im going to ask my Dr to start the decline soon..I stabalised 2 mnths ago so am still fairly new, BUT i am dead scared of being on Methadone Forever like so many others it happens to.

I don't see why Subutex can be abused whereas methadone can be too!!! :\

Oh well. Suboxone can be abused too but you can get that in the US no problem with 30 days at a time.

I don't really agree with "abuse" as a term most of the time when it comes to drugs. I have been using buprenorphine IV for a long time, and it is for sure the only way I have successfully lost interest in using heroin for at least 2 years now. :)

BTW - Suboxone has naloxone in it, not naltrexone. Naltrexone is a much longer acting antagonist. Naloxone is metabolized very quickly, much more quickly than buprenorphine. At the same time - buprenorphine has a higher affinity for the mu-opioid receptor than naloxone, meaning, naloxone doesn't deter the user from using it the same way they would Subutex, as the naloxone isn't going to be active.

Sorry naloxone it is!!!I get water in my methadone for takeaways and it would take me a long time to IV it. I did Iv the Soboxone a few times and it neither made me high nor sick.and it was 2 x 8mg tabs.But with the straight Subutex you can get high i think. I only have had subutex in a clinic under direct supervision and i havent IV it. A mate IVed soboxone and it made him feel putrid. He was in withdrawal at the time so it wasnt presipitated. I guess everyone is different and what works for one wont for another.
Re: the word abuse, i dont think it is abuse either.
