I realize this question has been "beaten to death", but honestly trying to search for an appropiate method to IV these pills is near impossible. It's sort of ironic actually...there's plenty of threads that come up in the search but 99% of them are filled with replies that say "search"...
Anyway, I've come across a couple 40mg TEVA oxy's and would like to IV them as safely and successfully as possible. So far I've managed to come up with two methods that seem to work best for these little bastards that love to gel up...the "crisping method" and some other water extraction method (too impatient for the latter
)
Has anyone here had any luck with the crisping method? From what I gather, you can either microwave the pills for 30 seconds, crush, then microwave for another 30 or put them on a hot plate/stove and wait for the powder to turn to a caramel color. Afterwards the gel matrix should be defeated...
Problem is, every thread I've looked into about this method has conflicting info on how long to "cook" the pills for. I don't want to end up ruining them with too much heat, if that's even possible.
Anyone here with any experience regarding the intravenous use of TEVA oxy's and this "crisping method" that can shine some detailed light on this for me?
Thanks in advance
