Testing Pseudoephedrine

If I was shown a bag containing powder that was labelled psuedoephedrine, what tests could I do to prove that the contents matched the label? I assume that since the Marquis testers weren't designed for this purpose, then they wouldn't give a useful reaction. Does anyone know of a reagent that could confirm the presence of pseudoephedrine in a powder sample?
As for quantitatively testing the powder, what kind of tests could be done to measure the purity of the above powder?
Thanks, BigTrancer

Marquis can still be used. I'm not sure of the color... I think it might be a light green as opposed to a darker reddish looking stain for methamphetamine. I've never used it on ephedrine myself, but I did discuss using this procedure to monitor ephedrine --> methamphetamine conversions via electrolytic hydrogenation.
Aside from that, don't trust anyone who's trying to sell you a big bag of pharm. quality ephedrine.
Like that needed to be said,

Psuedoephedrine will go light brown with Marquis reagent testers. It should go Broon with our new E2 tester, which we will send to you if you would like to try it. The only other simple test that might help to elucidate strength/identity is a TLC kit or sending some to one of them Ducth labs (gotta love the Dutch).
