I've found some morphine ampules that are suppose to be 30 mg in each amp. Is there any place i could have one of these amps tested to find out if its truly morphine before i go sticking in me. Would a big collage say Cornell do something like that, or are there private labs that do this sort of thing?

Alright guys, this thread is staying open for one purpose: to discuss places that samples of an unknown substance could be sent to verify what it contains. This isn't pharmacy/brand/sourcing discussion, so expect infractions if you try to post or PM about these topics. ~dokomo

Try emptying it out on a scale and weighing it out. Also just snort some first to make sure that it morphine in that cap and not just a bunch of crap.

So you don't think they have labs that do this sorta thing. I keep thinking of the Seinfeld were they have the "fat free" frozen yogurt tested.

They do have labs to test your pill ecstasydata.org will test your pills for you and in doIhavepotential's post above he states that pillreports.com also does testing.

Hahaha I love Seinfeld

They're not pills, he said they were ampules... I really don't think there's anywhere you could get them tested that would be worth it. The cost of having something professionally tested would be way more than the ampule is worth. Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is IOP? It's obviously not a reputable source since you don't know if what they're giving you is actually morphine... So also, you don't want to be taking an ampule of "morphine" that you possess illegally, to a government testing facility.

I'd also like to second that you should be careful with it. If you're completely opiate naive, 30mg IV is quite a bit.

I looked at that website and it seems all they test are E pills. I would really like to find out if its actually morphine and the purity of it. I could always just drink one and then use a cheap home drug test i suppose. The only problem with that is it could have just a tiny bit of any opiate to come up positive.

I highly doubt that a university level scientist or even student would waste their time trying to ascertain morphine content so you can get high.

I agree with Cane, there are cheap reagent tests available to just tell you that there is (or is not) morphine in the ampules.

I also agree with suessmayr, unless you personally knew this university research professor/student and that's barely skirting legality anyway.

I don't really want to encourage just eating (drinking) it and waiting to see if anything happens if you're really completely unsure as to whats in there, doesn't sound like harm reduction to me.

I'm just going to stay away from them. It is a red liquid in glass ampules you have to break open. These out of country pharmacies have been selling bunk stuff for years, i just cant believe they now have people shooting questionable substances.

Red liquid? that's not good at all.

If you're wondering about quantitative testing, anybody with a gas chromatograph can tell you how much is in there. I'd venture to say that ALL labs of all kinds have GC's... all the ones I've been in have. You'd be surprised at how bored and apathetic most lab techs are - find a bar frequented by university folk (like a grad student bar) and look for someone who fits the profile - drunk dude, a little sad, maybe nerdy looking, paying more attention than most to the stuff in their glass. Girls are less likely to break protocol for something like this.

Just offer 20 bucks, maybe another 20 when he gets you the results. Just scan the chromatogram and I'll read it for you. Ask if they can run it through a GC/MS- that'll also maybe tell you what's in it, along with the relative concentrations of each ingredient.

I've been pushing my local harm reduction authorities to fund a testing lab, since purity is so often the causative factor in overdose.

yeah all the morphine ampules I have seen/had were clear and labeled. Red would be odd. but what about a home drug test and dropping some water/morphine mix on it, just a tinnyyy drop bc it is looking for small amounts in urine. It wouldnt tell you that it was for sure morphine or the right dose. But it is an easy start
