Testing MDMA in pure powder form

I'm hopefully getting my hands on some (supposedly) pure MDMA in powder form (Molly).

My question is, can I test this powder the same way as I were to test a pill?

By logic I'm saying yes, but just wanted to be sure...

Yes. My experiences with pure have always had very quick results(color change). It should be a white crystalline powder. And if you insuffulate it, it will burn like a mother fu... have fun.

Yes, logic serves you well. Powder will react with a reagent. In a pill it is the MDMA powder that is pressed into the pill that reacts to get a colour change.

Use only a tiny tiny amount of powder to test with. You will find that your reaction will very quickly go jet black if your tester is relatively fresh.

powder can also be brown as mdma crystals are brown alaso before being cleaned,

as an additional method of testing powder, doing a melting point test with an oven thermometer on a hotplate is a good way to verify whether the powder has been cut. mdxx has a certain melting poit, anything that reacts before or after this temp is not mdxx. you can look these figure up in pihkal
