I have the Mecke test kit. I was wondering if anyone has had their kit go bad(old) About how long does this take to happen? Is there anyway to test if it has gone bad? I have searched through the forum but cant seem to find the answers. Thanks in advance :)

Well I don't know really anything about the testing kits, but I suspect as long as the testing reagant isn't organic in nature and won't break down it should last forever?

Hi,

The testing kits do go off after a certain amount of time and start to return false positives.

I use Marquis and Mandelin and find I have to replace them on average once every 12 to 18 months.

Perhaps look up the manufacturers website for more details or do a search, I'm pretty sure I've seen a post that listed the different types of testers and how quickly they go off.

Thanks Simon, Im retarded :)

Not to mention, I was obviously putting the wrong words in the search engine, I did find a couple of threads about it.

Thanks guys

I think my kit is contaminated I musta put the wrong cap from one tester onto the other cause I get odd ass results. This could contaminate it right?
