Testing Kits for Meth

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could make a suggestion about what they think are the best testing kits.

Are there any reagents or tests that will tell if a pill is partially meth?

Im not sure but I think most pill testing kits test for meth as well, I think some can even tell the difference between amphetamine and meth.

Not sure if he still posts but cowboymac(might be cowboy_mac?) would know, send him or one of the mods a PM, or even better do a search for meth and testing kit and im sure you'll find out about it all.

IMO, Marquis reagent is the best at detecting amp/speed in your pill(s).

However; if you can afford an entire testing kit (Marquis, Mecke, Simons, Robadope, ect), go for that. They are easily available through DanceSafe.org (US based), or EZ Test (overseas). Bluelighters get a discount from EZ Test, check the stickies located at the top of this forum for more info.

i sure hope pill test kits test for meth.

fucking dirty speed...if you guys could see what it is doing to my town you would cry...i'm trying to make an impact, but one man is only so much...

the worst part is that one of the most sacred drugs to me (MDMA) is the one that is most threatened by meth: the drug culture is so infested with tweakers that people will go looking specifically for tabs cut with meth, which just gives the dealers that much more reason to cut them......

i hate speed.

My understanding about Marquis, is that it will distinguish between MDMA and speed. However, as many of the reports on ecstasydata.org show, many pills are partial combinations of both. Are there any test that will demonstrate the presence of meth if there is MDMA in the pill? Or does the presence of MDMA mask the results for speed?

I've previously mentioned a paper by Johns et al in which it's stated that a cobalt thiocyanate preparation will indicate the presence of meth (UTSE). As the reaction isn't reported to react to produce color with MDMA, it could be used along side of Marquis to indicate pills that contain both meth and MDMA.

A similar formulation is used as a detector for cocaine.

Here's the one that reportedly indicates the presence of meth. It doesn't (according to the publication) react with amphetamine sulphate, MDA or MDMA HCl

Formula: Dissolve 2g of cobalt thiocyanate in 100mL of methanol (Spot tests: A Color Chart Reference for Forensic Chemists, by Johns et al)

^ No sorry, but it would be a good one to try for someone with access to the thiocyanate, which is quite expensive.

I haven't been able to find one kit that can tell the difference between amphetamine & meth, can someone help me out?
I'll be ordering a testing kit or two within the next week.
I know Mandelin can test for Speed/(meth)amphetamine. Does this mean that it doesn't test for amphetamine?

No, it tests for both.
