Does anyone know if there is a readily available or simple method to test a pill to see if it contains hydrocodone?

If they're pills from a US pharmacy there's no need. Just do a pill ID (google).

I've heard of people making bogus OC 80s but never fake hydrocodone/APAP pills. That just wouldn't be worthwhile.

You can use the EZ test kit Marquis Reagent (most often used for testing ecstasy) to determine if their are actually opiates in the pill. Wikipedia has a list of colors that indicate which chemical is in the pill.

You can buy the kit on Bluelight, I believe.
If not, dancesafe.org has them.

^Yes, it should turn reddish/ violet with Marquis, and I believe dark blue-green with Mecke. This won't say specifically that it is hydrocodone, just that it is one of a few opiates.

Hydro or Oxy testing

Is there a way to determine the if a pill contains Hydro or Oxy? I am not concerned about measuring the amount, I would just like to ensure that it even includes what is supposed to be the "active" ingredient.

Thanks so much for all of the help. That definitely answered my question!!!
Love this site!
