Hi all,
I realise this is a common topic but read on because my questions aren't answered in any sites I've seen. Recently I've been unlucky enough to have repeated bouts of horrible urinary tract infections. It feels akin to having acid poured in your bladder. For this the doctor will often prescribe me tablets of either 8mg codeine/100mg paracetamol. This however does nothing for the pain. Even when I was prescribed 30mg/100mg it still didn't completely take the pain away for me at times. The doctors here in Australia are very cautious about prescribing codeine. I'm looking to do a cold water extraction of about 70mg but I was wondering if anyone knows any at home chemistry tests to test my solution for paracetamol content. I don't want to hurt my liver. Also wondering if solution will keep, looking to extract and save for a day when I experience bulk pain.
Cheers :).

I would be interested in knowing a way to check this also. I don't often use pharms with APAP (paracetamol) in them anymore but I have always wondered if there was a way to check at home for content left in the solution.

I would pre-dose with N-acetylcysteine about 30 minutes beforehand if I was concerned about possibly taking too much APAP.

i wouldnt even worry. personally i just wait for the apap to settle and i decant the solution. other times i just suck the solution down with a straw
