i have a question about testing x. i know the best thing to do would be to buy an ez-test kit, but it will take too long to get here and i need something now. a friend of mine told me that a fast way to tell how quality your pill is or if there is actually any mdxx in it, is to get a pH test kit they sell for fish tanks, and if your product is good, it should go purple/black fairly quickly. i know that it's only gonna verify the purity of the pill and not test for other harmful or unwanted substances, but can anybody confirm that the fish tank test kit would give me an accurate answer?

well, your post was totally unhelpful. the poster didnt ask where you can find test kits. if you wanna know if the fish tank stuff works, compare ingredients, i kinda doubt it works tho.
and taking pills without testing is suicide? come on now, 8) . even if it was pma, you'll probably live. when all those pma pills were out, not too many people died in comparison to how many people ate them.

Not sure about the fish tank thing, but do a search on www.erowid.org. There is a link (I'm looking for it right now) where they give you a 'recepie' on how to make a testing kit.

How would you feel if one of those people that died was you best friend?
If you don't care about your health 8), at least get it so you don't get jibbed by getting a shit pill.

How many people do you know that have died from an overdose? Let me guess? Is it zero? FYI, I know 4 people who have died from overdoses over the years.
Some of these deaths could have been avoided if testers were available. Now that they are, you are MAD if you dont use them

ok, to address the orignal question: can i identify my pill as mdxx with a ph testing kit
i'm pretty sure the answer is NO. the testing kits use several reagents (marquis, simon, and mecke) which change color according to the molecular structure of the unidentified substance. simons reagents, for example (correct me if i'm wrong), causes a color change when in the presence of secondary amines (meaning there's a methy/ethyl/whatever group attached to the amphetamine molocule).
pH testing kits simply test for the concentration of h+ or oh- ions (acidic or basic).
 
um, that doesn't sound viable to me either, but as this is indeed a pill testing question, I'm moving this thread there...
