testing cocaine's purity

Can you give an example of a cut that is gonna follow the Cocaine HCl while it's converted to freebase? I cant think of any.
Take your time and freebase it. Now weigh it.
Add 10.3% of the weight of the freebase to the weight of the freebase (call that X).
Now take the weight of the original cocaine HCl and subtract X from it. The difference is the amount of cut you had in the original product.
Or....Cocaine HCl isnt solubule in Ethanol, right? Dry some ethanol (Everclear), stir your coke into a glass of it. The cut will dissolve. The coke wont. Now filter it. What's on top of the filter is relatively pure cocaine HCl.
Btw, the average purity of cocaine seized at the borders is 73%. That's BEFORE it has been cut a single time in the US. Typical street coke in the US is usually around 25% or less. "Quality" coke is usually around 50%

Actually, cocaine hcl IS soluble in ethanol (about 25g/100ml. So you'd lose a lot of cocaine if you tried to filter with ethanol/alcohol.
There isn't a quick, easy, reliable way to test cocaine's purity. The best way to test quality is always to do a line.

Big amount: melting point test (just like you saw in that movie "Blow")
Small amount: have a line.

You can always use melting point to test purity, but who has a meltemp lying around?

put it in a spoon, add a little water, heat it up for 1 second..throw a filter into your spoon, and draw it up into a needle through your filter....see what is left in the spoon...should be pretty clean if it ain't all cut to hell
