Heroin Testicular Pain

Some of you are going to find this a bit strange but please read on!

I have been using heroin on and off for a few years. I have had tiny habits and stupidly large habits, not had many problems regarding health etc. but I have a suspicion when it comes to my testicles.

Around September last year I had surgery on my left testicle. I had been getting pain there (excruciating) for about 30 seconds at a time and so went to the doctor. He suspected it was a torsion and sent me for an ultra sound scan. The results appeared to show that nothing was out of the ordinary and all was well. About a month or so afterwards I almost collapsed at work due to the amount of pain and went straight to the emergency room. The doctors operated on my left testicle and stitched it into place. All was well....

For the last month I have now been getting pain in my right testicle exactly the same as before. The doctor and ultra sound specialists once again recommend that I go for surgery again but one thing is making me hesitant (although I will almost certainly have the procedure).

When symptoms first appeared on my left one, this coincided with my heroin use, and now second time round it is exactly the same time as my heroin binge. What I would like to know is if anyone else has heard of this being linked, if anyone has any thoughts or ideas about what this could be or perhaps I am just unlucky and the timing is just coincidence. My doctor knows about my heroin use but does not seem convinced the two are necessarily linked. It is very frustrating that at no point there is any evidence of torsion but I can't deny that after having surgery the pain did subside on the left side.

Interesting... I personally have never heard of heroin use causing or being in any way related to testicular pain, unless of course you're nodding out and sitting on your nuts... Hah. But, no direct link between the chemical consumption itself and testicular problems. I did some quick research online and couldn't come up with anything but I will look into it further.

Sorry to hear about your balls hurting man, hah.
 
I haven't heard of opioids causing testicle pain. If anything, regular usage of opiates might mask testicle pain.
 
yeah, i have torsion in my right testicle too, and with me being on PM it's pain is masked most of the time...until it wears off of course. i'd always thought it was relative to a nerve being pinched in my lumbar area coincided with my spondylolisis but it turned out to be torsion. the pain comes and goes away as well when i'm painkiller free. when the pain is there it can excruciating and debilitating at times. i know your pain, bro.

I think I will have to get the surgery and hope that solves it, interesting and refreshing that I'm not alone tho :) thanks tentram
