This growlog won't be updated with lot's and lot's of pictures, it's more of a diary. Currently doing a testgrow with my own Orange bud seeds, polinated a cutting last year, checking to see what the outcome of that will be.
First off the heritage of the seeds came out of two OB phenotypes. I simply called them OB#1 and OB#2. OB#1 looked like this:
OB#2 looked like this:
I pollinated both of them 2 years ago with a male OB, but that failed, I only ended up with a couple of viable seeds out of both. Last year I germinated 2 OB#1 seeds and 3 OB#2 seeds. Unfortunately I didn't end up with a female OB#1, but 3 males, 1 pretty much with an identical stature, smell and flowering pattern as the female OB#1. Out of the other 3 OB#2 seeds all ended up as females, 1 of them pretty much identical to the mother as well. So I ended up with 2 lovely parents, pollinated one of the cuttings I took from the mother and ended up with approximately a thousand seeds.
This was the clone mother:
And this was the pollinated clone:
Unfortunately I don't have clear pictures of the male in flowering, but this is how it looked early on:
So far so good. I germinated 20 seeds 3 weeks ago and 19 sprouted. Intentionally picked out some white-ish seeds, but only one of them didn't live. It already looks like they've inherited most of the genes from the mom, similar growing pattern, short and bushy. Nothing bad about that, but I wish they've had a little more OB#1 in them, those are able to grow outside perfectly, the OB#2 rots away too fast due to the bud structure, it also tastes less "kushy", something I really liked about the #1. The seedlings all look alike, no differences yet, pretty stable so far, I'm just dying to see how they'll flower.
Currently they're almost 3 weeks old and residing in 2 litre pots with regular potting soil. Only sprayed them with some fish emulsion, gave them a dose of root-stimulator and some spore elements. First pic is at 2 weeks, 2nd is of their 3rd week. I'ts a shitty cam, but I'll try to persuade my friend to regularly check in on them with his better camera. They'll need re-potting, which I'll see to tomorrow or the day after. It'll be 16 7 litre pots, with a mix of regular potting soil and cocopeat upgraded with pre-mix.
