Test result question

Ok, last weekend I got hold of some capsules with white powder in them, was told it was ecstasy just not pressed into pills, thats was fine, took the pills, awesome stuff, worked really well, very loved up, and lots of dancing, anyways, tested them the next day (stupid me forgot to bring it along).
With the Marquis, and it smoked then slowly went black, which would indicate DXM with MDMA, then I tested with the Mandelin, and it bubbled then turned purple/black, which would indicate Ketamine, and MDMA or MDA.
My question is which one was it? Or are my testers old? Dodgy powder? I looked on the bottles for a date but I couldn't find one.
Any help or suggestions?

Answer: Probably not. If the complete reaction quicky goes to a blue/purple black then it is most likely just an MDxx reaction. An initial puff of smoke, and bubbling, is often seen in MDMA reactions, particularly when testing "pure" powder.
DXM gives a slow murky grey reaction to Marquis, and it will smoke for quite sometime. Once you have seen a DXM reaction you wil realise that it is very different.
If you still aren't sure perhaps you should test it with Mecke reagent (available from Dancesafe) but be warned that altho this test gives a clear distinction between DXM/MDxx it isn't as exacting with many other common adulterants. Marquis reagent should always be your first test.
Same goes for the Mandelin reaction. Ketamine will give a very slow born reaction if at all.
Now the thing is this substance still could have DXm and ketamine in it, as those reactions would be masked by the purple black of the MDxx reaction, but chances are it doesn't.
