Hey everyone, I recently tested some pills I bought and they turned red then purple.
Has anyone ever had this happen and if so and you still took them, what happened? Was it bad, good, nothing happened?
I really really appreciate any info!
Thanks

What reagent did you use to test the pill????
I know a change from pink to purple with Marquis Reagent could indicate the prescence of an opiate. I'm not sure whether the red colour you describe would indicate something similar....

You observed a reaction to red and then purple, this is a non-typical reaction.
It indicates that your pill does not contain an Ecstasy like substance (Definition of an E-like substance is MDMA, MDEA, MDA only)
It may be possible that your pill does contain some E-like substance but the red should be an indication that 'there may be something else as well'.
When evaluating a test result, there are two possible outcomes. It displays a typical reaction or it does NOT display a typical reaction.
If there is no typical reaction, then the conclusion should be; it is not (an) Ecstasy (like substance).

Thanks for the info man. I retested the pills a couple of times and they are turning straight to a reddish purple, not red than purple, which i said earlier.
I used the marquis reagent. The instructions say orange is speed and purple is ecstacy, i was thinking maybe its a mixture of both.
Have you ever eaten a pill that did this?

A mixed speed/ecstasy pill would NOT give you that reaction. If anything you might see a flash of orange before the purple with that combination.
Can you say what the pills are, and where in the world you are?

I am in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and the pills are called Meridians. They have a bowtie logo shape on them. I have a thread up on North/South America discussion board with a picture of them there.

Maybe you should do some further testing with Simons and Robadope.
Anyway, the reaction still seems non-typical to me and even if it contains some MDMA, I would consider it a non-Ecstasy like substance.
For example; some people report a colorchange when the first drop of Simons reagent is added and then start wondering what it could be.
The only answer is that it is a non-typical reaction so it is not considered an Ecstasy like substance. It is almost impossible to find out what it really is.
Same for Robadope, if you observe this red/salmon reaction, the conclusion should be that it contains more than just MDMA.

Well, Solo is my husband and we decided to eat the pills since we knew for a fact they werent DXM or PMA. They were nothing, maybe a tiny bit of ephedrine. I felt that 'im about to start rolling' feeling for about an hour and it never hit. After that I felt nothing. However, I could not fall asleep until almost 5:30am, even though I was totally sober.
There must of been something there because the test did turn red, just dont know what it is. Since I bought extra pills I am going to send them into dancesafe to find out cause I am totally curious!
Thanks for all the help everyone.
