Terence McKenna Admits To Being An Agent?

Not a hero of mine Knock, I save that tag for William S Burroughs, Hunter S Thompson, Jim Morrison & Kurt Cobain only.
Mckenna just gave me faith in my ideas, i'd been tripping for several years before I found his work & it made me think I was onto something that was the "truth"

I wasn't literally meaning he was your "hero", just that all humans are fallible and you shouldn't have that sort of "faith" in them - and the idea of heros is closely linked to having faith in someone you don't actually know.

I had "faith" in Carlos Castaneda's books for a long time, and looking back it wasn't the best use of my time or mental energy.

Also, what does his being an FBI agent have to do with his "psychedelic research"? Why should this change your view of Food of the Gods? (which to my mind is a fun, provocative read but isn't in any sense scientific).

That's true, Once again I slip & fall

Same here, I was sure it was real for years & then found out he was a hack & had a taste for young kids. Sadly I also had a "thing" for Datura after reading his work. How someone didn't die or go mad is beyond me.

MK ULTRA for a start, they never closed that project down it just went under a new name. Though i've done my fair dose of RC's i've always been a bit suspect who cooks these things up, for example Doctor Z could so easy be in the pay of Mossad which of course are tied into the CIA, fit the pieces of the puzzle together ;)

Terry was a bullshitter.

I don't believe for a second he had anything to offer the FBI...I like his work but he was a teller of tall tales.

He never had a 'price on his head'. When he handed himself in for smuggling hash nobody had a clue who he was or even seemed to care much.

ps - I recommend Brotherhood of the Screaming Abyss to all McKenna fans..I know some of the internets were disappointed but I thought it was an amazing book, on many levels

I mean PTCH Patsy Kensit means nothing to me, I have no clue who she is. I only know Kate Moss because of her relationship with Johnny Depp & when she went to Owl Farm with him to meet Hunter S Thompson.

Edit - Knock I'm just curious on the Don Juan tip, what's your view on crows if you have one.
For me what he said in the 1st book with more research turned me onto alot of old legends & ideas about them plus my avatar speaks volumes
about my belief in what they are.

I've just ordered this in Sammy's size for you...

You could wear the Dog one.

If the agency are hiring Terence we really are fucked. Not exactly Jason Bourne was he.

We're getting some for a mate of mine's 30th Birthday Party. he's got an ace venue and it's a hillbilly/trailer park theme.

The invite asks for dungarees, mullets, strange accents (we're in fucking South Devon ffs :? ), pregnant drinking.

We're doing the Dog and Beth. Missis needs to sort out her little A cups though =D .

We're also gonna take a shitload of cheap fags to stick in people's gobs and light whether they smoke or not.
