This topic especially goes out to all my north nj heads, becuz while many other places you will not take the same road to get to your cop spot as you will to do your everyday other activities, in NJ EVERYTHING is on the highway, so anytime you want to go anywhere youre prolly gonna pass right thru your coppin area. (Shit, we all know that NJ got a reputation w/out of staters for heroin, I even remember a PA friend of mine talkin about one of his homies that does dope (the kid didnt know i was a user) and he goes "Does he do heroin? Ha, uh..yea. Hes from new jersey. thas just what jersey kids do. Dope.")

^^That aint nsfw, but it should say NSFNNJ (Not suitable for non new jerseyans, cuz nobody else will care).

Anyways,
To all my hood-coppers (well shit , what other kinda coppin is there) in the house....I got a question....
You know them exit signs that tells you every half mile or so where the next exits at? When youre just drivin along, minding your own business, goin to do somethin wholesome and un junkie like, and you see the sign, looming over your head, right there above you almost like its calling you....

patersonnewark-1.jpg

(Another jersey note: unfortuantely I coultnt find no pics of the actual exits off 80, the parkway , 46, 21, 19, etc, so we get stuck with the shitty generic pic and not the actual places we would get off the highway at. But the pic is just for example purposes, I jus had to point that out tho)

Does it make you want to cop? Do you feel like, as you get closer and closer, like "Aahh fuckit, Shit man just a quick in and out" like you cant resist the urge? I know everytime Im on 80, 46 or whatever road I may be on,and i pass the sign for Paterson, or the off ramps for certain streets, I gotta fight the urge to hit the blinker and get over and roll thru for a quick cop n go. Especially for people who aint currently using and are tryina quit I guess that shit would be pretty tempting.

Its like they are just posted there, luring in anybody that knows what good shit is contained within the city limits....To us, It aint a informational sign, its a tempting voice whisperin in your ear ,it aint a list of the places that are near by, its like a neon sign blinking DOPE DOPE DOPE! "Newark....Paterson....Irvington...." "you know you could just take a quick detour....."
Im sure its the same anywhere else, this aint just about NJ. Anybody who cops (it aint gotta just be dope, just that it seems like the majority of coppin is done for dope), when you pass by the hood that you cop in, are you able to just not care becuz you got somewhere else that you are going, or does even seeing the road to get to your spot make you feen?

Do you read?

;) Yea, I was asking everybody. I just wrote about NJ becuz that is where I live, where i grew up, and where i cop at. I dont know what its like other places. Thats why I made the thread, to see how yall felt when passin by your 'hoods .

So now that we got that shit all cleared up, u gonna answer the question?=D

Haha my bad. I live in a pretty damn small rural area, but it never really bothers me going past the interstate exit that leads right into the hood. Probably because I've only bought weed, coke and the occasional bean there. I think it would be entirely different though if I had bought my OC's or any other opiate from there.

I dont know shit abount new jersy. But on topic, I will be in reasturants or parks or store fronts that iv hooked up at just doing regular shit and Ill be reminded of all the dope deals that have gone down there, and these places arnt neccesarily in the "hood" even. And yeah it makes me want to score.

That sign and the Newburgh exit sign up here in NY make me fiend like crazy.

I've been driving a few times and seen a highway sign to a place that I knew I could have copped. Man that sucked. I almost always broke down and did it. I have a weakness like that.

Hell yeah, Im just a sentimental person like that.

Things like signs and little random things remind me of good times and I want to go back to them, because I have no self control. I live off my emotions.

I hear you. now Enod, imagine goin by the sign for the place you used to cop at, like once a day. thats NJ for ya

I dont think its just a jersey thing, alot of us live in city's where walking down the street is a constant struggle to stay clean:

Funny you should mention this because this is exactly what I go through with the Baltimore exit signs. Always makes me fiend. The worst is when you're in a car with a non-user and they know you cop, but won't aid you. It's a lost cause!

yea yo, im glad somebody feels me on that.

I remember a long time ago reading a post someone made about DARE, and how they gave out pencils with drug names on them, and how instead of seeming bad, it seemed real enticing. Like all diff. kind of candy in the candy shop. "Meth" "heroin""crack" "angel dust" and just seein the words there was like luring him in.

thats how i feel wit the exit signs.....the name just up there callin out , its kinda hard to explain but i kno anybody whose posted in this thread is feelin me so i aint really gotta.

The feelin when you do hop onto the exit ramp tho is like a adrenaline rush
