temgesic (bupe) .2mgx6(1.2mg) taken over 6hrs,no effect

my friend took 5x 0.2mg temgesic (buprenorphine) over a couple of hours and he hasnt felt any effects at all.
last time he used opiates was a couple days ago ~150mg codeine CWE.
isnt that extremely strange considering he should be naive to opiates considering bupe is suppose to be pretty strong.
method of consumption has been sublingual (5x 0.2mg temgesic melted under tongue).
should he consume the other 5 tabs he has (also 0.2mg temgesic) with the total dosage being 2mg then over about 5-6hrs?
please answer ASAP

Well, sublingually, the BA% is around 30% or so. So really, he has taken (roughly) .4mg of bupe. Which isn't that much, but an opiate naive should be feeling it. I don't know how big the tabs are, because I would recommend snorting them, the BA% is higher and I get better results that way.

Either have him try and snort some, keeping it at .2mg doses, or have him continue using it sublingually and if he puts a bit of high proof alcohol under the tongue along with the bupe itwill increase the BA% upwards of 50%. But keep the doses small, because I know for me and others, it takes a bit longer for bupe to kick in versus other drugs (All ROA). When snorted, it takes a good 40mn or so for me to start getting effects, with it really settling in around the 2hr mark.

Many naive can get good results from 1mg of bupe, so I am not to sure what the issue could be.

thanks for the reply

the tabs are white and small. one of them was crushed and snorted (after 5x0.2mg sublingually over 3 hours). the snorted bupe was at about a 4 our mark.
after 6 hours - still no effects. he could feel a couple of tokes of weed more than the subs and he smokes lots every day. then 1mg of xanax and he was very happy
when trying the bupe he was completely sober and hadnt taken anything for quite some days, except 160mg codeine 3 days ago.

just dunno what to do, really want to help him get the best out of the 10x0.2mg tabs of temgesic he has but so far theyve been a huge disappoinment

also, what exactly does this mean? (taken from wiki)

does it mean the sublingual availability is 70-90% instead of 30% as You mentioned in Your post (considering temgesic 0.2mg is NOT a highdose tab) ?

wtf? so despite that its meant to be consumed my melting under tongue and that its dosage precisely says 0.2mg, its is only 30% of it?
isnt the dosage declared on the package the same that is consumed?
