In my head
This is a continuation of my previous thread, 'Methadone Addiction', in which I explained I was down to 1.25 (1 and 1/4) mg a day.
So I finally managed to switch from methadone to temgesic 0.2mg buprenorphine pills 3 or 4 times a day. Yesterday some time before I went to bed I took 0.2mg, bringing me up to a total of 0.6mg. Today I woke up at around 9 and craved my first 0.2mg pill of the day physically, but I refrained from taking it because I wanted to see how long I could go without it. Right now it's 16:00PM and I feel great. There was some minor bowel problems earlier but they disappeared on their own and they may not even have been there in the first place, could be purely psychological.

Anyways, my question is this: do you think I will go into withdrawal later on, perhaps tonight or sometime tomorrow? Or am I in the clear because of the very low dose I'm taking? I don't mind tapering even further, but obviously I'd rather get it over with sooner than later. If I do get w/d's, how long do you think they will last? If we consider a mean halflife and such. The methadone should be pretty much gone from my body; my last dose was 1.25mgs and that's more than 4 days ago.

well not only does methadone have a ridiculously long half life but buprenorphine has a Huge one too.. you should technically be able to take a couple mg of sub and not have to take anymore for a couple days if you have a low tolerance of course... I think the temgesic is still doing it's thing on your receptors however you may have tapered down enough to only have mild or no symptoms Only time can tell. however it is a bit to early to make that call.. If you still feel just as decent as you do now ... say tomorrow night then Maybe that would be a better guide with which to make your judgement

It's hard to tell, but buprenorphine actually has a pretty long half life. If you go into WDs, it will probably appear sometime late tonight or early tomorrow. However, since you are taking a pretty low dose (buprenorphine is quite potent but still), your WDs shouldn't be that bad.

It's really hard to say for certain, however.

I was curious as to what mg of methadone you came down from, and how long it took u to come down from it? I was up to 45 mg daily. Not that much I know, but am down 1mg every other day, and am down to 4 mg right now, and just yesterday I started feeling some w/d symptoms. Wondering ur experience on coming off of it. Thnx.

I was on heroin everyday for around 6 months, and in the last few weeks I smoked maybe 500-1000mg per day. Then I got on methadone and took 60-80 mg a day for a few months, then I reduced and increased my dose for another 6 months and ended on 1.25 a day. I took 1.25 a day maybe 1.5-2 weeks, then got on temgesic 0.6mg a day approx... Oh and during my high doses of methadone I would in periods take the 8mg subutex tablets instead and then go back on methadone and so on... But to sum it up I'd say 6 months of heroin, 6 months of methadone and so far 1 week of bupe.
