Temazepam

I used to be perscribed temazepam for sleep. It worked decently but lasted way too short and clonazepam was allot for effective for me.

Really? Clonazepam and Diazepam are probably the worst benzos as far as a restful sleep goes, imo. They have way too long of a half life, which means lingering effects in the morning, and the long half life doesn't ease up so you can finally get some REM sleep.

At least if you take Alprazolam a few hours before bed, the last few hours will have some decent REM sleep in it.

Temazepam doesn't interfere with REM sleep at all, which makes it ideal for a restorative sleep, hence the "Restoril" brand name. If it is wearing off too quickly, I would either take more Temazepam, or a tiny bit of Clonazepam with your Temazepam.

Personally, I would never waste a Temazepam high by sleeping, as it's so damn recreational. :D

I think that guy up there must be obsessed with REM.

that's me in the corner.....that's me in the...

oh..nm..
I always forget you're all 20 year old..geez.

It's worked for me recently, sometimes w/ a little suboxone i'm weaning off that almost done. A few times it didn't seem to work, but there were other factors in my mind on those particular days. I also work at night, sleep during the day so it's hard anyways! But temazepam has worked for me, never really felt 'high' but have slept well with it

Temazepam is by far one of the most effective benzodiazepine hypnotics out there.

I get the best sleep when I take 30mg temazepam, no waking up in the middle of the night, awesome.

I don't use benzodiazepines recreationally as they have no recreation value to me, and they aren't euphoric either, but the closest thing to pseudoeuphoria IMO would be with temazepam, flunitrazepam, or midazolam. Pretty much the only benzo I'll take for fun instead of when needed occasionally for debilitating insomnia or anxiety, would be flunitrazepam. I'm prescribed temazepam and have taken hundreds and hundreds of milligrams of it and it's still not as good as flunitrazepam.

tricomb, benzodiazepines do produce euphoria according to the FDA. Your subjective "analysis" is just that: subjective. Scientific studies say you are wrong. Euphoria is listed as an official side effect of temazepam use based on clinical trials conducted by the FDA.

What the hell is "pseudoeuphoria"? It's a word you made up. Drugs are either euphoric or they aren't and according to research, benzodiazepines are clearly capable of producing euphoria. In animal models, particularly among primates, reinforcing behavior was found to be quite common. It's clearly also common among humans, or there wouldn't be so many addicts of benzodiazepines.

Your invention of the word "pseudoeuphoria" is, well, your invention.

Euphoria..
Happy...
Control...
Love..
Beauty..
all subjective and relative..IMO.

Pretty sure it's mostly considered a hypnotic.

but also an anxiolytic and anti-convulsant.

How's that for no answer. 8)

Indeed, primarily hypnotic but with some anxiolytic, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant properties. All benzos tend to have all 4 qualities but to different degrees.

There is also the amnesic properties of benzos, which makes it five properties.

Temazepam is technically a "hypnotic" benzo, but likes most hypnotic benzos, it binds very tightly to the a1 subunit of benzo receptors, making them strong in all aspects of the benzo high. This is why even though 15mg Temazepam is equivalent to 7.5mg diazepam or 0.375mg alprazolam as per the BL benzo conversion charts, it feels much stronger than those two benzos at an equivalent dosage.

^Good point, quicker onset of effects definitely adds to the subjective likeability/euphoria of a drug, since the quicker shift from sober to high is more pronounced.

Yup, British and Australian studies have shown that temazepam is the most rapidly absorbed benzo, while oxazepam is the slowest. There is even some research that temazepam affects serotonin levels in the brain. I will look to pull up that info. It was about temazepam being taken in conjunction with SSRI's and the risk of serotonin syndrome.

I just got this Rx'ed I hope it works, I havnt been able to sleep for, it seems for weeks.
A couple of hours, then awake with my mind racing, then a couple more hours of sleep (if I'm lucky) then up for the day.
Which makes it tough to stay awake in the afternoon.
What a fucked up way to live.
I WILL keep in mind the addictive issue, as things dont seem work so well for me after awhile.
Which means I take more,yadda,yadda,yadda.

Euphoria?? It knocked me the fuck OUT.
I like a good dose of diazapam, but crikey, I just woke up 6 hours later, not remembering climbing the stairs to bed.
Man I'm glad I wasnt cooking anything.
Definitely a sleep agent for me.

I used to have 30 mg prescribed and found that if I didn't go to bed right away, I could "ride out" the need for immediate sleep. It felt very euphoric in the initial stage and though it's meant to help me sleep I would delay it and then the buzz was nice if that makes sense.

clonazepam vs temazepam - opinions?

i have a kpin script, might switch it out for temaz script

Personally I think temazepam is the 2nd best benzo out there in terms of euphoria (the top being flunitrazepam ofc!) but for me I had to take relatively high doses, around 180mg if I wanted to feel the euphoric nature of temazepam.

As for sleep its fantastic - apparently it's one of the only ones which don't disturb sleep architecture in a sever way like most others do. I personally wouldn't use it duing the day though - it does zombie you out a little although at lower doses the sedation isn't too unbearable.

If you do manage to get the euphoria from it be warned it is highly addictive, same goes for most, but especially temaz and rohypnol.

Lacster I'd stick with te clonazepam if you're going to be taking it durin the day. If its for sleep I'd definitely have it switched out though.

looking around and couldn't find an answer and came across this thread. How much would it take to get the equivalent to 4mg of alprazolam which I take regularly, sometimes up to 8. According to the equivalency charts to get similar effects from Temazepam I would have to take like 320 mg of it to equal 4mg xanax if I got my math right, that just doesn't seem right, way to high. I know that the charts don't always account for everything but even 180mg seems high so was wondering what regular doses of other benzos you are used to?

also, has anyone ever noticed a headache from taking too many of these? I found that if you empty the capsules and then eat it you don't get a headache, so it has to be whatever the capsules are made of.
