Temazepam vs. Nitrazepam

I often see the two being compared because they're apparently fairly similar (except the latter is not available by prescription in the States).

I unfortunately haven't tried nitrazepam yet, but I hope to do so when I go on my yearly trip to Europe (Paris, Barcelona, and Lisbon every summer, visiting family and friends), but I hope to do so when I'm in Paris next month, I'll hit up a doc and try to get my hands on some Mogadon (nitrazepam). Bromazepam is much easier to find in basically any medicine cabinet in anyone's house all over France, but nitrazepam is a runner-up, it's usually one of the first benzos docs prescribe for insomnia.

Anyways, how does the euphoria and duration of effects and motor coordination impairment compare between the two? I've also seen them likened to nimetazepam, unfortunately only available in SE Asia countries... How does that compare to temaz and nitraz as well?

You sure it's nitrazepam not nimetazepam - temaz and nitraz are right at opposite ends of the benzo scale but nimetazepam (Erimin/Happy 5s) is the one that I've seen compared to temaz. Only available in Asia, sadly :(

Temaz is short-acting and euphoric (for many) whereas nitraz (moggies/Mogadon) justs turn you into a zombified mess for a few days, in my experience. Can't stand nitraz but temaz iz topz :)

Yeah, I wasn't too sure, but I thought nitraz was short-acting. I thought nimetazepam was more comparable to nitraz than temaz.
Maybe we should turn this into a temaz vs. nitraz vs. nimetaz thread!

even though they both may be prescripted for the same purposes I find the carastaristics very different. Nitrazepam gives like flunitrazepam a smooth very warm feeling. Temezepam is much more dream-state. I prefer Nitrazepam but I find it far too long acting. You feel really dromsy the day after if you are not used to them.

Half life of the n-pams is actually fairly similar according to wiki - temaz is a fair bit shorter (kinda like the crack of the benzo world ;)). Nimetaz is the only benzo that I've seen regularly rated as more euphoric than temaz - always seem to be the top two most sought after benzos in Asia. If nimetaz is half as good as they say then that extra bit of half-life should be a damn sight more fun than being monged on manky ol' moggies :D

Was mainly joshing cos you can't talk to EveryStar without the faint whiff of crack smoke wafting on the breeze :D

But technically you would be nearer the truth probably. Never had triazolam but suspect it would go down well... but I doubt it's as sexy as temaz. Hopefully I'll be able to test this theory someday - will cross me fingers and make a doctor's appointment ;)

Actually, wouldn't midazolam be the crack of the benzo world? Haha. I really want to get my hands on triazolam and midazolam...but those dang online pharmacies are so damn expensive...

Midazolam orally lasts a lot longer than triazolam sublingualed. If you're talking about IV midazolam you're probably right for some people but I think for me triazolam didn't last as long as IV midazolam, I might be wrong though - don't exactly remember. IV'd loprazolam lasts longer than midazolam but the come up is very slow (whereas with midazolam, you get a great rush).

I didn't like triazolam nearly as much as temazepam, triazolam is in the class of benzos that alprazolam is. I think for people with a really large benzo tolerance, they would enjoy triazolam more, and people without an extra large benzo tolerance, would probably like temazepam more. Some people do like triazolam the most though.

Never had Mogadon but I could have tried it, don't know if I still can (probably can). The effects you all describe for nitrazepam remind me of flurazepam! %)

I really hated Mogadon, i found it to work in waves.
I was perscribed it and Valium. The valium i found was much smoother. Mogadon makes you groggy; induces that benzo haze. It's skeletal muscle relaxing properties are weaker IMO than valium. But that being said I've only used it three or so times, i havn't experimented with upping the dosage or potentiating it either. I was in Anti Dipressant withdrawls at the time, which could have biased my findings.

i think phenazepam rules them all.. lol no im kidding, i just wish i had access to more benzos than what i can get online (phenazepam, etizolam) or what i can get scripted (klonopin, valium and ativan) i've never even gotten the chance to try temazepam.. omg im gonna die a temazi virgin

Pretty sure you can get temazis online... if you have a prescription, of course ;)

Can't have a temazi thread without the posting of the traditional Tramazi Parti. How many other benzos have top tunes written by legendary (addicted to the eyeballs) aficionados and connoisseurs of all things druggy? None is how many... probably.

album review said:
Tramazi Party deserves some sort of award for being the most unapologetically pro-drugs song around. There are the coded songs about drugs (‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ – hippie shit or LSD code?; ‘There she goes’ – love song or heroin hymn?), and then there’s Shaun’s slightly more open approach – ‘welcome to your nightly, you can have it if you treat it rightly’.

The recreational effects of the drug were documented in the Black Grape album, It's Great When You're Straight... Yeah. The track 'Tramazi Parti' contains the lyric: I got my boots on the back of my head / It's full of jellies in the good old bed / And no one knows what no one said. Although there is no medical research confirming this behaviour, it is not inconsistent with the known side effects.

Source - Effect of temazepam on ventilatory response at moderate altitude... in the trivia section but still surprised to see it there :D

Temazepam is a metabolite of Valium. So you are not a temazepam virgin as temazepam has been inside of you. ;)

I think people with a tolerance like Valium more anyways. I know my friend who popped benzos like candy hated temazepam but loved Valium.

It probably did. That would probably be why. Did you take the Valium during the WD's too or no?

you got a point there.. so i have had temazepam in me, just not a lot of it at one time to fuck me up good.

I gotta disagree on the tolerance thing, Cap'n H. I've had pretty damn high benzo tolerance at times (100mg of diaz alone just to get out of bed and many more mg munched through the day - not just diaz but nitraz (ha!) and temaz too) but would always swap diaz for extra temazis. I think temaz is for the hedonists - diaz for the escapists, kind of. I'm a bit of both but am pure libertine at heart so temaz always wins. For extra bonus %) points temazepam linctus is even sexier than the pills <3

^so my favorite benzo is clonazepam.. what would that make me? a hedonist or escapist? i have an idea of what an escapist is= someone trying to forget their problems or something along those lines? but what's a hedonist? sorry for throwing the thread of track, im just trying to expand my knowledge.

Hedonism is a school of ethics which argues that pleasure is the only intrinsic good.[1] The basic idea behind hedonistic thought is that pleasure is the only thing that has intrinsic value. This is often used as a justification for evaluating actions in terms of how much pleasure and how little pain (i.e. suffering) they produce. In very simple terms, a hedonist strives to maximize this net pleasure (pleasure minus pain).

Related but with added debauchery - Libertinism (The Marquis de Sade being the most infamous Libertine, perhaps)

A libertine is one devoid of most moral restraints, which are seen as unnecessary or undesirable, especially one who ignores or even spurns accepted morals and forms of behavior sanctioned by the larger society. The philosophy gained new-found adherents in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, particularly in France and Britain. Notable among these were John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, and the Marquis de Sade. "Libertine", like many words, is an evolving one, defined today as "a dissolute person; usually a person who is morally unrestrained". Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand wrote that Joseph Bonaparte "sought only life's pleasures and easy access to libertinism" while on the throne of Naples.

Or as Johnny Depp puts it in The Libertine.

I'd say clonaz (also a favourite of mine) is definitely on the escapist side, I'd say - the long-acting ones tend to be cos you want to escape properly. Hedonistic temaz-lovers are more... hedonistic in their use. It just has something about it that's not like other benzos. YMMV, of course.
