Temazepam dose to get high (safety of high doses)

hey guys, i have a pretty decently high benzo tolerance.....i'll go through a script of 30 10mg (300mg)diazepam in 2 days, or take 60 1mg xanax footballs in a day or 2 to, or take 15-25mg klonopin to get a buzz to give you an idea of tolerance

i came across temazepam and have taken it the past 2 nights in a row....the first night i took it i took 15mg klonopin and 120mg temazepam together and got pretty fucked.....last night, however, i took 6 30mg temaz capsules (180mg) by themselves and only felt intoxicated when i stood up to walk around...laying down i couldnt really notice any of its effects....i was kinda let down

considering temaz's high toxicity and relatively low ld50 compared to most benzos im wondering if its safe to take 210-240mg temaz with some benadryl w/o risk of OD. Since i didnt feel that intoxicated off 180mg i figure 210 wouldnt hurt but just wanted to be on the safe side and check with you guys who have experience. I will not be combining the temaz with anything but benadryl. thanks

It is clear to me you need to cut back your benzo usage...

Believe me, i've been there taking upwards of a gram of diaz and 100s of mgs of xanax.

You need to taper and cut back now.

EDIT:

Second thought, i'm leaving this open so you can get a bit educated as to why this kind of dosing is increasingly problematic.
 
also is temazepam metabolized by cytochrome p450 like most other benzos or not? essentially, should i take tagamet(cimetidine) or white grapefruit juice for potentiation or will it have no effect?

sorry tripman, i'm new to temazepam and didnt know what acceptable doses were...

No it is your dosages mentioned for alprazolam that alarms me.

210mg of temazepam is essentially not a very high dosage. 20mg of temazepam is equipotent to .5 of xanax.

So technically 1.2grams of temazepam is equipotent to those 60mg dosages of xanax you are taking.

My point is that you are taking way too many benzos in general and need to stop. You need to taper because you WILL have seizures.
 
tripman i was taking 60mg xanax in the past spread out over the course of 2-3 days.....all i'm asking is if 210mg temazepam alone is too much or not considering my tolerance?

as i mentioned, i took 180mg temaz last night and got buzzed but nowhere near what i was expecting

also, i dont take xanax anymore for that reason you brought up....eating that many footballs in such a short time is very bad...now i just use benzos recreationally from time to time
 
is it also true that temaz tolerance builds more rapidly over the course of like 3-5 days of daily use compared to other benzos that build more gradually?

basically, this will be the 3rd night in a row ive taken it....will i get more effect from 210mg than i did last night on 180 or does the tolerance negate the higher doseage? or since its only been 3 days and ive been taking azo and cranberry supps will my tolerance not have built that quickly?
 
i read online thru med journals since its a sed/hypnotic with such a short half life tolerance builds more quickly than say ativan or klonopin.....i'm hoping ill feel more off 210mg than i did 180 last night....also to your knowledge, is temazepam metabolized by CYP450 liver enzyme like valium is?

wondering if cimetidine or grapefruit juice will help with potentiation...also i've heard benadryl helps, but does it actually potentiate it or just add to the tiredness/sedating effect?
 
Benadryl will just synergise with the effects.

Temazepam is not metabolized by CYP450 sorry.

I dont believe that temazepam builds tolerance faster, in fact I would have thought for the same reason tolerance rises quicker in the ones with a longer half life because you still have trace levels in your system when you take your next dose...

I imagine the dose will feel a tiny bit stronger.
 
thanks for being patient with me tripman...explain the diff in synergy vs potentiation?

basically taking the benadryl wont negate ortake away any of the good effects of the temazepam?


does the benadryl synergy just mean it'll add to the sedation? not make the actual dose more potent?

I hope you know that when you eventually go through withdrawals, you will need to be hospitalized, and after they try to treat you, they will not be able to IV you enough valium to stop the seizures. This itself will be hell, can and will cause lasting psychological damage.

the 3 people I've known who abused benzos that bad were sent from the hospital straight to the insane asylum due to the symptoms that mimic severe schizophrenia accompanied by suicidal ideation, which I myself have experienced when detoxing from years of high dose xanax. It persisted for a month.

You need help. I'm not being a dick either, your a ticking time bomb.

But the truth is i have abused Benzos beyond belief, consuming Grams of Diazepam, Alprazolam, Temazepam in a weekend on a regular basis over the course of 2 years etc etc ...

Also towards the later stages i was mixing these amounts with Opiates! Which as we know is a suicidal cocktail.

My local drug councilling service have never met anybody like me, they say im a 'one off' medical miracle, they also told me i should be dead, many times over with the level of abuse and the type of abuse.

Now i have never tapered due to my infrequent and sporadic abuse, basically the health professionals dont know where to start because my levels of abuse are that high.

I have quit cold turkey many times, sometimes ive managed to stay clean for up to 8 weeks other times 4-6 weeks and other times just 2 or 3 weeks, its not fun and i felt awful, suffering pretty much the whole list of withdrawal symptoms yet (Thank god) ive never suffered a seizure.

I realised i was addicted so tried my own regime to try and quit, i gave my Diazepam to my mum and i would ask her to give me 100mg as and when needed and she would note it down in a diary (although i have cheated on a few occasions :( but compared to where i have been my level of use has dropped dramatically.

On average i will use 200mg Diazepam (100mg on seperate days) only when/if i feel withdrawals kicking in or feel particulary anxious.

So from taking hundreds of pills and thousands of milligrams of active substances each and every weekend i feel ive come a long way.

I also suffer crippling Anxiety/Depression, which is something i had many years before i discovered Benzodiazepines, yet with all the abuse of Benzos over the past few years i find these symptoms have deteriorated somewhat.

Ive now been on various SSRI's/SNRI's for 9 months or so and tbh i feel worse than i ever have done, i have a G.P appointment in just over 1 hour and i also have my first appointment with my Psychiatrist on wednesday, so im hoping they will sort me out but i really do worry the damage ive done can not be undone.

Truth be told i should of went to seek help 15 years ago for my mental problems.

You should stop taking benzo's to 'get a buzz'. Your tolerance is ridiculous and you are putting yourself in danger taking such high doses of benzos.

Sort it out, speak to a doctor, get a taper going.
