Dark corners of the sky are revealed
Diamond eyes peer into our hearts
Crawling from this ebony of dark forgotteness
For what could have been has ended
Those christmas lights do not seem so bright
Cobwebs in a dirty sheet cover my christmas tree....
Passion for a holiday that means now nothing
Curse me now for a "X" does mark my brow
Look upon him because christ does shed blood dark with sin and bitter with love
In a velvet dark shadow that reaches out so I will follow
Angels do dance with hands in worship point down
Wings are clipped and eyeless they stand a grin stapled to their face
Tell me how to love on a holiday that dances for the devil
Arms spred out and head does hang cross my feet for today we sin
Fall to my knees punished and beaten
My hands sit tied together with the body of christ point me to heaven
and my lips do sealed with his blood speak no folly for I shall sit blind with a crown of glass placed upon this head
Today angels do die and judgement does reign so sit and
watch
listen
learn
for I am a sinner with wings super glued to my back
and a grin that stand with the help of rusted nails
My eyes do face back for only the whites do show
and still we all sit with hands in worship and pray for our souls
Dance with me for the devil does lay in your book of glory
Join him for he has lead the world and he stands tall
For the anti-christ is your belief in what is not real
Teach me how to have faith in this whore of a world and dance on a day that is covered in blood and hate
For Santa is black and he is homosexual and we are just puppets of what we want
let the blood soaked strings guide you in the way of god
But our puppet master is only what we fear....
sorry but there is nothing there
For I say that when we see that there is only the sky and its eyes
Dark corners of the sky are revealed will your faith help you now?!?!
Has god failed you?!?!?
No, for he was never in this sky and we all died when our so called christ sat and suffered
For he did not die for us we left him there to die
and forever we will sit in our own blood and shit in this hell that contains nothing but eternal oblivion
So you do dance... dance with our devil.... and hang your lights and share your presents as christ does hang there in your sin your blood and smile with those angels that stand with hand pointed down

I believe it was Billy Corgan who once warned to "beware of angels with their wings glued on..."
Interesting viewpoint. I can't say that the holiday itself is such a bad thing - i think people take froim it what they want. I know persoanlly that there is no religion involved in the celebration, it's more a way of showing each other that we still care. Not a large amount of money is spent, but there is much effort put in, and usually we have all our friends around as well. Sure, you shouldn't need a special event to tell a loved one that you care for them, but if there is such an occasion set inplace for such a purpose, then what is the harm in doing so...
I like your poem - it's very powerfully written, very sneering and toung-in-cheek. Good stuff... :)

Thank you for your input I do apperciate all of your thoughts. This poem was inspired by a multitude of things.... my own family experiences, my belief in religion and it having to do with the holiday... and so on.

i think people take froim it what they want. This is what really got me started on the whole thing... I was sitting a a waffle house at 2 in the morning when a man and his friend decided to share their views on christianity with me. I tend to have an open mind on things so I listened and learned from them. But then they brought up x-mas and then I realized that everyone has their own idea of x-mas..... but it upset me when he pushed it upon me to believe what he believed... when he told me that what I thought was wong. I agree with you that x-mas is not really a religious holiday and that people make it what they want it to be, and then they argue over who is right.
For Santa is black and he is homosexual....
