That's ridiculous, why should my tax dollars go to paying the state to trip sit for people !?

Some people just shouldn't take psychedelics - he should NEVER touch the stuff again IMO, as he obviously can't handle it well. Having taken extreme doses of all kinds of chemicals myself, in various settings, I personally don't see how some can get so fucking off-kilter, but I have seen it happen to others - yet they somehow think it was cool and do it again!

iunno. i can see having a bad trip while being alone. not going so far as to slitting my throat...but its happened.
i ate shrooms one night with my friends and we hung out and had a fucking awesome time...the next day, noone was around and i still had shrooms left, so i took the rest of em and the trip was pretty bad...mostly, i think, because i was just by myself. only bad trip i've ever had and only trip i've ever had by myself, so i formed a corilation.

still..slitting your throat and all..thats kinda excessive.
 
I don't understand the people criticizing him for taking acid in a bad setting...seems to be missing the point kind of. Much as he did; he thinks it's worse he took acid without a plan than it was to try to commit suicide twice in a night.

Aside from that, I wonder what his deafness had to do with it, if anything...
 
Wow i cant believe how insensitive some of the people on this forum are. All you care about is your drugs! This man slit his throat, you cant show the least bit of sympathy!

Who cares if he gives acid a bad name, fuck there is always going to be someone giving it a bad name! And criticizing him for taking 2 and in a bad setting! geez you think he doesn't realize how stupid it was!

Wow honestly i expected more from this community.

Its not so much that, at least from me. Im genuinely confused as to how this could have happened. His actions sound more like someone who had been seriously considering killing himself for some time. I have heard of drug use causing depression, but in an otherwise completely sane individual causing a suicidal desire with a followthrough in under 2 hours? I might be wrong, but that is completely unheard of in all the literature I have read in my studies.

I think another problem is that so many of us have had such hellishly intense trips that we might have wished for death. I know LSD has an incredible power to warp your mind, but I have never heard of something this extreme.

Or... didnt someone do this years ago but on mushrooms? I think he said things in the Shroomery.org chat and then it was on the news later, running naked at cops...

Regardless, all opinions aside, its quite a story...
 
All respect to him for admitting it was his mistake and not becoming a poster-child for the war on drugs, he must have been pressured on to make some kind of "drugs are bad" statement afterwards and because he didn't that's why it hasn't been mentioned in the article.
