Hey, the mailbox probably looked at him funny.

A teenage boy was apprehended early on July 15 in Port Moody, British Columbia, as he allegedly attempted to fight a mailbox.

"[Police] saw this 15-year-old kid literally talking to this mailbox and full-out fighting it," spokeswoman Const. Luke van Winkel told Now News.

Officials say the boy was under the influence of LSD, and when officers attempted to take him into custody, he began to turn his aggression onto them.

Ultimately, the boy was released with no charges. Van Winkel noted that he was "just a kid who made some bad choices," and that criminal charges were not in his best interest.

The Port Moody police tweeted about the incident, first stating "A call of a male fighting with a mailbox." They later reported, "Mailbox fighter arrested after violently fighting with police."

The @PortMoodyPD Twitter account is, in fact, full of hilarious commentary on various police calls.

"It was a fight on the street between friends," a July 21 tweet reads. "An intervener got bit in the arm. We were advised it was "typical guy stuff." #debatable."

there's an LSD technicality where if you've taken 7 doses or more you're legally insane and immune from prosecution.

Seriously, how do they know he was on LSD?

No, that's a myth. Psychiatric drug use doesn't make you "insane" after any amount of dosing.
 
Nice to hear an account of such reasonable and conscientious police officers. Cops have one of the most difficult jobs there is, and they're constantly treated with such disrespect. It's somewhat rare, in Melbourne anyway, for them not to become jaded towards drug users. Sounds like the arresting officer was a decent guy. If only all cops were like him.

His first line was clearly a joke as indicated by his second line which started off with the word, "seriously" implying that his previous statement was not a serious statement.

It wasn't a confusing post and his question after the "seriously" is a good one. LSD is only detectable for a few hours, basically while you're tripping and I don't believe the standard drug test even tests for it.

Agreed, the post was pretty clear especially after Carl laid down the "seriously" smack down of reasoning! I'd have to figure they just asked the kid when he came down ya know? Would seem like a pretty standard run through after getting into a one on one with a mailbox no? He has no reason to lie and their not going to charge if with anything so he might as well be a badass and tell 'em he jedi flipped with a quarter, seven hits, and a quarter gram of DA!;)

They can also do a spinal tap and detect it that way for up to five years. Also they can test him for strychnine. One other thing they can do is check him for temporary tattoos cuz you know dealers pass out free LSD-laced tattoos at middle schools.

The creators of blues clues obviously did a lot of LSD.

Nah, not really but I've always wondered where the brains behind successful kids shows come up with their ideas. Some of these shows are really abstract and strange. Yo Gabba Gabba as well as Adventure Time come to mind.
 
Some episodes of cow & chicken and ed edd & eddy were pretty mental too, like impossible to watch on mushrooms mental.
