Hi all..
I have been reading around the subject for a while and have gome across a few people who have built such systems from custom milled parts ( mega expensive ).
My main query is : I haven't seen any references to using off-the-shelf LPG car parts to do the job, and there seem to be a large number of potentially useful components in this area.
eg: 12v shutoff valves, auto-changeover kits, LPG pumps etc..
Is there some obvious reason these are not used ?
Has anyone here designed and built their own recovery system who wouldn't mind some potentially idiotic questions being directed at them ?

There is a thread on UK420 where someone actually built such a system. It looked quite involved but worth it in the long run. The same guy bought a second hand gas chromatography system to analyze bud so he's pretty hardcore. I don't think anyone here has had experience with that sort of thing. Not beyond the theoretical anyway.

Here's the thread. You've no doubt read the thread already though so this is probably of no help, sorry.

No problem with using car parts as long as they're clean metals. Often automotive parts manufacturers will dope or treat metals to handle specific applications better so there's no guarantee that any old car part is suitable for an application in which you need lab-grade shit (i.e. stainless steel). Considering how many tank refills you could get for just the cost of building a system like the one in the last pic, I can't imagine it would be the most economical option unless you literally have boatloads of shake to turn into hash.
