Teacher Accused Of Shooting Up Heroin In Classroom
NBC 4
June 5, 2007

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg elementary school teacher is accused of having heroin and drug paraphernalia at school after he canceled class and locked the door to his classroom.

Police and school officials said art teacher George T. McDonald is charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Superintendent Peter Gorman said McDonald resigned immediately.

An assistant principal at Bruns Avenue Elementary School unlocked the door and found the teacher with his arm strapped. An administrator was called after a teacher took students to the art classroom and found it locked with a sign saying classes were canceled through Friday.

Gorman said an investigation revealed that McDonald was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in Buncombe County in 2005.

McDonald was allowed to enter a deferred prosecution program, and the charges were dismissed when he completed the program.

Why the @%*! did'nt this guy go shoot up in the bathroom like the rest of us? Not very smart for a teacher.

Hardcore art teacher. He must have gotten tired of weed... =D

But yeah, what a jackass. I know you do stupid shit when you're dependant and withdrawal is creeping up, but what the fuck? Looking yourself in a classroom where you teach to shoot up is just crazy. I could only imagine the principal's reaction when he walked in. 8o

not surprised.

when addicts need their fix, they need it now.

i suppose he figured that day he would bring his rigs and dope to class in his brief case that morning and just shoot up after class, sitting in his nice comfy chair, in a locked room, and would be able to have a nice relaxing drive home from work.

i can imagine shooting up in bathrooms must feel like total shit, though i doubt he hasn't been there.

^It'll be kinda hard to take a dump at the school then.

Teachers nowadays, they're so lazy, the don't wanna go across the hall to take
their drugs. How sad for our children.

This didn't happen after class. Dude locked his classroom door and put a note up that said class was canceled all week...

What? Why? Shooting up in bathrooms isn't any different from shooting up anywhere else. Bathrooms are the best as far as out in public goes, because it's the safest place, and then you have soap and water right there to was with afterwords. You just gotta bring your cooking device, an empty water bottle (so you don't need to fill your rig at the sink where people can see, just fill the bottle) and a rig.

...

Are you serious? I'm all for responsible drug use, but goddamn, this is just flat out stupid.

An Elementary school... and he puts a sign up saying classes were canceled through Friday?

What a fucking moron

And then shooting up in school... flat out brain dead. Stupid jackass!

if he was withdrawing or something and it was gonna come down to this, why didn't he just say he had to go home sick and then go shoot up ANYWHERE that WASN'T his classroom? 8(
