a lot of threads are people worrying about possible overdose because they overshot with their dose

it seems like a good harm reduction idea to get the following info, hopefully with some scientific certainty

if one's central nervous system is depressed, and one is worried about falling asleep or "forgetting to breathe" (as it subjectively can feel like),

would using some tea or coffee offer any help? the heart rate would probably fluctuate, but on average it would be higher right? could this potentially save lives if we get in the practice of having a glass of tea once we start nodding a little too hard?

(if anyone has anything that they feel is almost *certainly* really serious, or have an absurdly low HR / breathing rate... skip this thread and go to the hospital)

If you are worried about falling asleep whilst you are having CNS depression, then caffeine could help yes.

But if it's more a case of you are starting to go under and lose consciousness then I don't think it will help much.

On a side note, when opioids are trailing off, a cup of tea brings back some of the effects for me.

Some heavy nodding and consequent slow breathing prompted me to go the caffeine route. As I happen to already enjoy Irish breakfast tea, I now incorporate it.:\
