Yo. What happened to the yolk in yoga?
Posted on February 23, 2012

If we look up ‘yoga’ in our dear friend Wikipedia, we learn that traditionally, the Sanskrit term ‘literally means to “yoke”. From a root yuj, yoga means to join, to unite, or to attach.’

thus:
yoga is for chickens.

yoga is for chickens.

Speaking of chickens:

much of my subconscious motivation to not eat meat, happened I think, when the last couple of times I bought a roasted chicken, and wound up picking veins out of the things. It is delicious, but there are is plenty more to eat out there with having to mess with that.

Plus beef makes me sick everytime I eat(as much a I crave it) - simple enough.
;)

I still often think about becoming a vegetarian again. I was for 14 years til about 3 or 4 years ago.

I think about it all the time Spork. I'd love to be veggie, it's so obviously the right thing to be for so many reasons. I'm doing good learning how to cook other proteins lately apart from trays of mince as the usual staple. The things you can do with chickpeas, who knew? :sus: But then I think about
NSFW:
bacon. Steak, all different kinds, properly rare / med-rare / wotevs, medium even depending what it is, let's go crazy: chuck it over a fire for a bit then feed me it. Kthx. Slow roasted pork shoulders, or bellies. Stuff you can pull and mash into the gravy to go with the crackling or do Char Siu Chinesey shit with. Curried goat. Jerk chicken. 101 things to do with lamb from around the world that somehow manage to improve on your most obvious choice of just chucking it under a fire for a bit and then eating.

^Agreed! I like meat/eggs/dairy way too much. As much as I love animals.

i keep my meat consumption limited to chicken turkey and beef (and of course eggs and dairy) at any rate i dont think i could ever be a vegetarian and i take comfort in the fact that the human species is naturally an omnivore not an herbavore (no offense herby)

i used to date a girl who didn't eat meat because she didn't like the way it tasted, which is fine.

then she would bleat about places not having any vegetarian options as she bagged on me for being a picky eater.

she used to love TGI friday's cuban black bean soup, until one day i pointed out to her that there was no way it was vegetarian since any authentic cuban bean soup would definitely have some form of pig meat in it. of course she refused to believe me, since she was also a know-it-all and she absolutely KNEW that cubans would never eat pork since it's an island, DUH!

i bet her $5 it did and when i won the bet she refused to pay me. what a bitch (for a thousand reasons besides being a welch).

I had to eventually start eating meat again after becoming pretty anemic and also I just wanted to see if my tastes had changed. They did change somewhat, but a lot of times I pick out veggie meals over the meat meals.

^How do the iron supplements work for you, hun? I tried them for a while, but they didn't do anything. :\ That's when I decided that eating meat again would be the best option for me to choose.

I could never be a vegan/vegitarian. I love my charreed, fall-off-the-bone meats too damn much. Most vegans irritate me by preaching about not eating meat because it's murder, while they down all their multi-vitamins and prescription meds because 'they're ok'.

In light of my last picture, I give you this:

I went to a job interview today and Barnes and Nobles was right next door and I ended up going in. I had a giftcard so I bought this really awesome leather journal. I've never owned a physical journal before, it's a bit intimidating....especially since the pages can't be removed.
