The floods have been absolutely horrific :( I never usually watch the news because it's too depressing, but the last few days I've been watching when I get home from work, and some of the images are just shocking. I just sit there dumbfounded and close to tears.

There are a few Bluelighters who have had to evacuate their homes in Brisbane. Unfortunately one BLer, zephyr, has lost her home and all of her possessions. Thankfully she is fine <3

Child of the Beat and Busty St Clare also had to evacuate but thankfully they are also fine, and their house was only just spared. Massive sigh of relief for them <3

leftwing and lostNfound also had a rough time protecting their houses from the floods, digging trenches and sandbagging etc. But as far as I know their actual houses are okay.

It's just so widespread, ya know? Like, Queensland is a HUGE state, and the whole south-eastern third of the state is just completely under water.

I know!! Pretty much every continent has been affected by devastating floods in the last couple of years. Crazy!!

This is so sad for them...I heard a woman being interviewed on the news(she was distraught with tears):( and she was describing how one mans baby just got swept right out of his arms in a flash flood.
My heart goes out to them :( Hopefully it will be over soon...
<3Glad the BLers are ok :), so sorry to hear some of their homes are lost though...Glad your ok too N3o!:)<3
Think i've spotted at least one Brazillian BL'er on here...Floods and mudslides have hit hard there as well (Brazil flood and landslide kills 270 people outside Rio 13 January 2011 ):(

I guess this is a time when people really pull together...at least that's some light FWIW.

So, last night, I ate cheese and crackers around the coffee table with my parents for dinner and we're watching the local news.........
Each night this channel features a weather question- I'm thinking this was a slow night b/c the question was : "Is it safe for me to eat snow?"
Really?? REALLYY? You gotta ask that shit? IF its yellow, don't eat it.
i have two things to say
1)cheese n crackers are fuckin yum.now i want some.wat kind of cheese was it.
2)lol what did the news people come up with as the answer?i agree with you tho for sure haha
^ even if its mellow yellow slushy ? :( !!
lol i guess thatd be a risk youd hafta be willing to take!

sure, I'll cruise up there in my old man motor scooter (I'm a little rascal in my Little Rascal)

This had me cracking up and forgot to mention it earlier.
At least you picked one that is stylish- though you may want a more manly color ;)

imaima- We had An Extra Sharp Cheddar (Tillamook Reserve) , Kerrygold Celtic White Cheddar, Hot pickles, Sweet Hot peppers, Hummus, and.........mustard.....(not the hummus with mustard though :) It was delish.

left overs ?!?!!?!??!!!??!?! 8o8o8o8o

Eating snow isn't a good idea in general actually. In a survival situation, clean snow can be melted and drunk, but eating snow can lower body temperature surprisingly quickly.

Now tire d'erable (hot maple syrup poured onto clean snow, making a soft taffee-like candy) on the other hand is the shit x 7. I haven't had it since second grade mind you, but I'm thinking that it may be high time to collect some pristine snow and eat the hell out of some of that.

OMG it has been so crazy at the shelter and what not. I often wish I had time to process it with you guys but I never want to be on BL at work just in case ya know...
*sigh*
Bed bugs
lice
drama
police
people coming and going....
*sigh*

^ sounds hectic and draining PT :/ Hope you can get time to chill out and unwind for yourself? <3

Kerrigold! They export that stuff to the four corners of the globe I rekon!
Did you ever have the butter? I dont know if it would be produced in Ireland though? It is a beautiful rich, primrose, yellow colour(Hence the name!) Very decadent altogether. It used to facinate me how butter in the States is an off-white colour(not being used to it of course!;)) Although my Mother prefers American butter.
Dont eat much butter myself because I cant, but I must say the Irish, kerrygold is lovely, worth a try!! :D

Also on cheese, had a beautiful White, British - Chedder with balsalmic onion laced through it and a blueberry and peppercorn chutney, over the holidays...it was nomable (However I usually like a strong, nutty cheese with a sweeter relish/chutney, or a nice Blue; without too strong a mouldy flavour, on a wholemeal, (wafer- thin) Cracker... with Walnuts and again a sweet, rough- textured homemade chutney ,or, I am also partial to the 'Smelly' French Cheeses; as my Godfather lived in Provence and I was there alot in my youth-but not all mind. My favorite I had in the States; melted Nacho cheese(Not the processed rubbish). Mmmmmmmmmmmmm! <3 Cheese.:)

Two words ''Taffee-like'' Nom nom*Drool*.... Toffee and Caramel have to be some of the most beautifully looking, golden brown substances known to eat... used to be able to get these assorted toffees here; they were hard but softened pretty quickly and had a 'Brazil Nut' essence in them- they were just Divine, Sweet Ambrosia!! Ok thats enough, once I get into this food talk I dont get out...:\
