Jesus, whats with these world-wide floods, nearly every (well a hell of a lot!)country in the Hemisphere is being affected by it at some stage in the past few years! :/ we're all going to have to pitch together and make an Arc!!!

The floods have been absolutely horrific
I never usually watch the news because it's too depressing, but the last few days I've been watching when I get home from work, and some of the images are just shocking. I just sit there dumbfounded and close to tears. In one of the towns badly affected by a flash flood in the middle of the night, hundreds of people and their pets and kids were stranded on the ROOVES of their houses all night because their houses were under water, in the pitch black, with rushing torrents of flood water inching closer and closer, until they could get rescued in the morning. I cannot even imagine how scary that would be. And just like, cars and trucks being swept away in an instant. It's completely insane.
There was this one image of a family sitting on the roof of their car floating down the flood waters, and when the rescue helicopter went back to find them, they were gone
There are a few Bluelighters who have had to evacuate their homes in Brisbane. Unfortunately one BLer, zephyr, has lost her home and all of her possessions. Thankfully she is fine
Child of the Beat and Busty St Clare also had to evacuate but thankfully they are also fine, and their house was only just spared. Massive sigh of relief for them
leftwing and lostNfound also had a rough time protecting their houses from the floods, digging trenches and sandbagging etc. But as far as I know their actual houses are okay.
It's just so widespread, ya know? Like, Queensland is a HUGE state, and the whole south-eastern third of the state is just completely under water.
I know!! Pretty much every continent has been affected by devastating floods in the last couple of years. Crazy!!
