Yeah I just read that as well.
What does this mean in terms of the al-Qaeda?? Will anything change?
 
My facebook wall in filled with people celebrating. I know he was a bad man and did some fucked up shit, but I'm not down with celebrating death really. Also at this point I feel like his demise is more symbolic than anything.

I completely agree man!! Mind you, I'm Australian so it doesn't really hold as much significance as it does to you Americans. Although I understand why people are celebrating, but yeah, like you said, it's a symbolic thing.

I'm afraid it will mean Al-Qaeda will amp up their efforts rather than feeling defeated.

I can understand not celebrating the man's death but on the other hand, THOUSANDS of people have died ALL OVER THE WORLD (not just the US) due to Bin Laden's lead..... I don't give him the credit of being the mastermind but for sure ONE of them..... From the standpoint of someone who has family going to war over this bullshit, I'm nervous. i'm not celebrating, but I am not unhappy either- but I AM scared for what will come of it.
 
As ah american I'm glad he was caught / his end is over but ocean's spot on: no only are there thousands Osama's out there, they now all have a reason for it!!
 
I find it lame when everyone is cheering that Osama Bin Laden is dead because more than half of those people didn't give a shit about it before. I'm sorry for what happened on 9/11 but really if it wasn't Osama it was going to be someone else. By the way I also kind of think this whole thing is a conspiracy by the way.... Shortly after we passed a law that allowed the government to be able to tap into our phone lines ect. so they could prevent terrorism. I'm not saying this is for sure a conspiracy it's just a thought.

I think you would be hard pressed to find many people in the States who didn't give a shit about Bin Laden and what he did.

No, I'm talking about we all cared about 9/11 but then everyone went on with their lives. They didn't really even care anymore about Bin Laden and whenever he was brought up everyone was like whatever.. I'm talking about the younger population and kids I go to school with. Also I know a lot of adults who act/acted the same way. I mean it's kind of ridiculous for everyone to randomly start freaking out over his death. What's the point of cheering? A lot of the ones who are tonight aren't even "patriotic" a lot of these people are the ones bashing the government and everything. I really can't word this right but I'm saying it's funny how everyone is going USA USA but every other day they are like fuck america....by the way I'm from the United States.

Also cheering for someone's death is screwed up. No matter who the person was....and really was Bin Laden the head leader of this all? I don't think so.

By the way Bin Laden is dead but are the troops coming home? No. Are the gas prices going to lower at all? No. We still are facing all the problems that supposedly was all caused by Bin Laden. When in all actuality he was a prop used by America but I'm not going to get all crazily into that. I'm also not someone all about taking down the government and what not....I'm just stating some things I have thought of over the years.
