pastel, i am a firm believer in the great cosmic joke being the controlling force in the universe, and as such i also sometimes believe that nearly anything good that has happened in my life is dumb luck. i guess it's sort of a prankster thing. maybe.

Micheal, I think your mom is so beautiful in that picture. She looks so natural the way young moms do when their whole world shifts from their own selves to the little bodies they are consumed with caring for and loving.Is she Italian heritage?
Also, I wish I had a praying mantis in my garden--they are so good about eating all the destructive critters. And they are just so cool looking.
Pastel--I picked you right out of the lineup before I read the caption--because of those eyes! Did your brother ever get mad that there weren't any other brothers--just sisters? Mine used to look at my mom and say, "please just have one more brother. " My mom would try to tell him there were no guarantees on that one.
Rules--so glad that you were able to take the picture! Speaking of eyes, yours are amazing!
