Green Calcite and Copper that was given to me from a friend who found it on his land, in the mountains in a river. We are going there tomorrow.

yeah, there are emerald, tourmaline, gold, quartz of all sorts, white and yellow sapphire(both of which i have from there), etc etc and...what i am hoping to find most of all, fossilized sea-shells, conchs and crustaceans; at 5-7000'.

^^ That is incredible !! I am very jealous of you =D
I really really want to find my own crystals and minerals some day.

Trip, next BL meet-up should be a rock expedition! I haul rocks home from everywhere. That rock is amazing, PiP. It is almost a heart, too--or rather it is a heart, just has a piece of it broken (like most hearts). Here is a re-post of some of my hearts. Also, the second pic is a piece of soapstone that I got in eastern Oregon and carved. I wish I had brought home an entire trunkful because it is so easy to carve--you can use your fingernail! What I love is the way the pupils in the eyes just appeared in the right places--they were just natural dark spots in the stone. I think that face was waiting to be found.;)

psyfiend that frog photo is fantastic!!!! and hthr007, that is an adorable face you get to wear through this life! I love your sweet smile.<3

... my buddies, they ditched me, no doubt to keep what ever fortune they find for themselves.
im just being a jerk, that is where the calcite and sapphires came from.

Michael, did you just come across that fireplace when you were hiking? That is exactly what I have been wanting to build in my front yard. Right now I have this little rusty woodstove out there that has been in my yard for over a decade unprotected and it is just about rusted through. Caleb had this intense reaction when he came home from a year in Samoa that Americans all hide in their backyards and that we should sit out in the front where we could interact more with people that go by. I loved the idea and we had been talking about ways to make the front yard where we gather, especially for fires. He wanted to make a pond and what was stopping us was a cherry tree that has really shallow roots that we didn't want to disturb. Now, the cherry tree is dying and has to be cut down anyway. After Caleb died I hung Tibetan prayer flags in the front garden and I go out there particularly when it is windy to listen to them flapping away. Lately I have just been considering having a hole in the ground with rocks around it for the fire.

Similar to the one I posted in the lounge. I do look tired though but I'm working full time now and finally going to college :)
