Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
I have a TON of elk photos from this day
They let us walk right up to them.
People started gathering though and I got really upset b/c there were a few cars that drove up (on a dirt road that was off of the main roads) and they were honking at them.
I felt like those people,even though we were standing there taking their pictures, were invading their space.
anyway- there were babies and mamas, and the older males separated from the entire group. it was interesting.....

Everyone, meet my new nephew Omeo!
He is still so sleepy, I didn't even get to see him with his eyes open and I was holding him for nearly an hour
It's so strange, I am so happy for my sister and brother-in-law, and Omeo is just perfect. But meeting him really sent me in to a sad place. I couldn't help but think "That should be ME with a new baby". It was nearly 2 years ago and it had to happen, and it still shocks/surprises me when I get sad about it *sigh*
