TDS Photo thread.....round 2.

I'm so sorry to hear about Spot passing away :( That is the really shitty thing about owning rats, they are such wonderful animals and you can form such a close bond with them, but they don't live nearly long enough.

you are so right! Ratties are the perfect pet, but there life spans are agonizingly short.:( Every time we loose one, we question whether or not we can emotionally handle more, and of course the rattie cuteness always wins!

Dutch is just gorgeous! I love blue coloured ratties. Do you breed them at all?
thanks! Dutch was such a people-rat. We still joke that he should have been the ambassador for rattie/human relations. unfortunately, he died from a stroke last Spring. And, no, we don't breed them; we can barely walk into a pet store/look on a rescue website and not try to bring all of them home. ;)

Here are some more Dutch pictures:

Dutch learns about gravity.;)

The blue boys (Dutch, Pedro, Dr. Teeth, and Trout) confiscate the camera.8o

Can you tell Dutch loved the camera? He was such a little ham.<3

I miss my little Dutch boy :(
Every time I go to a pet shop with rats I so nearly come out with a pair haha.
I haven't had ratties for over 2 years :(

I saw this stunning blue self girl ratty a few weeks ago and she was SO hard to resist.

lol, I so feel your pain! I wish I could win the lottery, then I'd adopt all the ratties out there; especially the one's in pet stores labeled "Feeder Rats" (I hate that damn term; I understand that snakes need to eat, but damn!) :X Oh, well. Ratties rock! You are in Australia, right? There is a great website out of Australia about rats in general, I think it's called Dapper.au or something, but it's got lots of cool stuff. I you aren't moving and can keep pets, you should check that website out; they have a lot of rescue links.

Thanks for the compliments about my babies. I'm a proud rat-mommy! =D

ratgirl, im drooling over your back tattoo :D
i would like to see better pictures of them!

Thank you! They (both arms and they back) are still very much a work in progress! Here is another pic:

This is one my friend took, she was doing a school project (photo school) on tattoos. You can see that the back and my right arm need A LOT more work done: just never enough time or money! 8)

Thank you for the compliment! *blushes*

ARGH!!! I have hair-jealousy! I love your hair (the cut and the color). It looks like what I am always trying to achieve (but never quite can). Love it!
Thank you very much. I do have the luxury of having a husband who is an excellent hairstylist. He has the luxury of having a wife who enjoys having him practice new techniques. I am his living hair model. He agreed when I said it was time to cut my hair. I grow it to cut it.

I love your ink. Very feminine.

aww, man, now I'm REALLY jealous! You have an "in" w/ the stylist ;). Lucky! They tease me at the salon I go to, cause I'm always freakin' there (you have short hair, I'm sure I don't have to tell you how often you need to get it cut). And red, that color doesn't last near long enough! Yours really is beautiful, though. It's perfect for your face. :)

Thank you. I'll trade, my tats for your hair (and face shape so that the hair will look that good on me)! Are you in the US? Just wondering where your husband works. His work on you looks like he's one of those "1 in a million" stylists that can pick out the perfect style for face shape, etc. :)

as u all know i never contribute any photos to this thread (hey it really is the useless computer not the ugly mug! ;)) but wanted to comment on ur rats ratgirl
absolutely adorable!
esp the fawn hooded - i hav a soft spot for them as the first rat i ever bred and used as a stud was a fawn hooded....he was called nevada
i wish i had some pics but he looked very similar and from wat i see of the 'sleeping baby' pic he was similar in temperament!
nevada developed COPD (respiratory disease common in rats) at 3 and i had him put down and now hes in the big cage in the sky
i dont hav rats anymore - theres just no room for them here anymore but i loved seeing those pics, brought back so many memories!

I usually pick the cut and the colour scheme. Not my stylist :) The red streak you see is 17 days old. It was in before he cut my hair short. We live in CT. As for the tats, I am a black and grey girl. Not one for colour on my skin except a hint of well placed red.

awww, thanks! Doesn't it seem like they (fawn hooded's) are always sweet, quiet, and just lovie? Man, there is a lot of rat love on this board, and that's awesome! So many people don't understand the joy of rat babies. Drug Wench, I hope you can have more ratties one day!

PS. I love your icon. I used to have that picture on my (now poorly neglected) Myspace page. Love the expression on the girls face. It's a facial expression I strive for! =D

More and more I'm liking the black w/ hints of color. The design I'm working on now for my right arm is basically all black/grey wind bars w/ red poppies. (Sounds like what you just described; w/ the red). I love the look of the black and or grey; makes the little bit of color pop! But then I just turn into a color whore. 8). But I'm GONNA make the wind bar/poppies thing happen...

I'd like to see a pic of some of your tats, if you get a chance...

Cuuuuute! :)

Yes indeedy!
More ratty photos!!! (these pics are all pretty old, I haven't had any rats for a few years)

Fawn hooded's FTW!

I personally prefer dark-coloured berkshire ratties. I saw a beautiful blue berkshire boy in a pet shop a couple of days ago, very nearly left the store with him :D

But I really want a black-eyed white rat!! Anyone in Australia know of any breeders who do black-eyed whites yet??

i cant understand anyone not loving rats - theyre intelligent, trainable, cuddly and sociable
cant remember where i found that icon now hehe - but yea i thought it suited me....
neo, ur ratties r gorgeous too - trinitys a beauty!

Is that a cat??? It's a HUGE cat! Looks happy, though. Happy, and well-fed.
yes thats a cat, 13 lbs, lil bitty(bigs, big bitty, doogen lil billy), she used to fit in the palm of my hand. she sure did 'grow up' she waits for me all day, depends on me for every thing for the the past 9 years.

she lets me bath her as long as i hold her tight, and give her soft reassurance. she can be be mean, and tough as fuck too.

my X land lords have this jack russel terrier that charged her from prolly 100yds, she stayed in the position, relaxed, acting like, wathacha gonna do fool dog, ill scratch your nose all up.

the sweetest babe all white, pink belly, pink ears, and blue eyes.

until she scratches the shit out of you if some one else pets her wrong.

Hahahhaaaa!! One of my cats is like that (Toby)! We were recently minding my brother's stupid dog (poodle x poofy dog with no brain), and the dog was way too excited about the cats, chased them at every chance he got. But Toby always just sat there with this reeeeeally unimpressed look on his face and swiped the dog's head with his paw hahaha. Classic.

nice rats n3o :D
trin looked like a monstrosity of a thing!

Yeah man, Trinity was the most awesome rat I've ever met! Especially for a girl rat cos they're usually a bit more skittish than boy rats.

But because she (and Switch) grew up sitting on my shoulder/in my hood/sleeping under my collar, I could catch the bus to work and walk around the city all day with them on my shoulder or tucked in my collar <3

^^ARGH!!! thats wat i used to do with my rats!!! once i went into a dairy to buy some smokes and as the guy was handing them over my cinnamon hooded, mary jane (nevadas mummy) poked her head out to investigate
id never heard a man scream and swear so loud!!!
