oh Mariposa!! Chloe is so beautiful!!! She looks like she is going to be such a fun dog. You feed her raw? Like raw in pre measured or prey model? While I was searching for more information about raw I found an awesome husky forum that people had tons of knowledge and threads about all different kinds of raw feeding. You should check it out.

Trip, that is so cute. Lol he likes cuddling with you?? Daw you are his heat rock lover.

I am indeed feeding Chloe mostly raw food. We are trying different brands. I've fed her raw organic ground beef as well as some commercial brands; she has almost stopped shedding (huskies 'blow their coats' - a/k/a shed profusely) in the spring and fall. I've noticed a difference in the amount of fur Chloe sheds since she's not getting strictly kibble anymore. She is on free dry feed (Science Diet) and, of course, free water in addition to her raw food. Huskies have enormous caloric requirements. Who can run the Iditarod without eating well? :D This doggie was born to run - and she does! She's a ball of love and yes, we have fun together. She pulled my roommate on rollerblades over the weekend and both loved it.

I'd ideally go with the prey model once her behavior is a bit more controlled. I cannot have her chasing after everything in sight. If you've a link to a husky forum, please do shoot me a PM!

trip - I'm not really into reptiles but WOW, that is an awesome lizard. What type of lizard is he? He looks like my cousins' bearded dragon, Mikey.
 
Wow that is awesome about her decrease in shedding. Huskies shed ALOT so that is really good. I think it is so ridiculous that humans feed dogs kibble made out of corn gluten. And who was the person who came up with making it in the first place. I really like the idea of raw feeding. When I searched out the dog food I wanted to feed Belle when I first got her (she was my first dog) I was really put off by the premeasured store brand raw food. Like the patties and all. I don't really know why. I think it may have been the price? Is it extremely expensive. How much do you spend on her per day do you think? I have two small (10lb) dogs so they probably will eat close to nothing actually.

I feed Orijen dry kibble which I decided was the best dry food I could find. It lists 80% meats 20% canine digestible vegetables. So it's supposed to be better than TOTW, Blue Bluffalo, Evo, all the ones boasting meat as their first ingredient. It also lists several different meats and usually that will include the first 4 ingredients being meat products. I really like the company. You should hear me present it to people. (I'm doing it right now :P but I do it in person too.) They are a canadian company and all of their meats are locally caught. They won my heart.

Also I have decided anything that comes in matte finish = either awesome or expensive. IE: Apple products, dyson, I can't think of anything else at the moment. But the Orijen bag is matte finish. I had already come to the conclusion about matte finish before ordering Orijen and it's not sold in a lot of regular pet store so I order it online and when it arrived in the mail I almost fainted. I was like I KNEW IT. IT'S EVERYTHING I'VE DREAMED OF. I'm kidding, but not about matte finish. You'll notice the matte finish thing too. Anyone who's anyone matte finishes their ish.
 
Ooooh Cosby omg his face! I love his snout and his eyes he looks so soulful. I love dogs snouts. I'm a freak. I always grab my dogs mouths and kiss it extra long and they're all looking around like <.< >.> I hope this will be over soon. I love doing it. I get such an odd joy from doing it. I mean like I don't make out with my dog or anything...but like I kiss the part where the whiskers are on the side. I'm always doing it and Belle and Lito are all like okay... alright it'll be over soon. They don't even give me kisses back anymore because I give them too many kisses.

That's one reason we can't keep this new dog too. He has a semi aggressive personality. Like he'll bite you if you go near his food or a toy he has and he's kind of normal any other time except when I do the kiss on the nose he bites my face. Really hard. And how am I supposed to not kiss my dog. So he has to go. :-/ We're fostering him until he finds a better owner lol. I'll find a dog that appreciates my overly affectionate kisses and cuddles.

And HOLY BAT EARS BATMAN!!

Oh my god Vaya, they are so adorable. I love them. I love Omar in the 2nd picture. I didn't know you had pets until now! Where have you been with these pictures? :P

Also, has anyone ever seen the movie Whiskers. Sometimes I wish my dog would turn into a human so he could be my best friend.

Half the people I talk to (maybe more?) think it's strange for a guy to have two cats. Well, a cat and a kitten. What do I care? LOL I'm so dedicated to comfort, I've been likened to a cat more times than I can count ;) And a room with black and green lights, lavender oil incense, ambient electronica and two purring furballs curled up against me and one another... Let's just say that I tend to sleep well at night these days =D

Omar made me LOL and I keep scrolling back up to look at him again---that expression in the 2nd picture is classic!

When i was pregnant with my kids I used to get a cat purring on my belly at least once a day. I used to tell my husband that I wanted the baby to know sound of the deepest peace there is. It truly is the sound of pure contentment, absolute safety and bliss. I know one thing, I did end up with two cat lovers!<3

Oh wow Vaya! I can relate to people thinking you're weird with the amount of animals you have. I felt so awkward telling my parent and my best friend that I was getting a 3rd dog. (I know we aren't keeping him but it wasn't the fact that we couldn't handle 3 dogs, It was that the dog was a bit odd and not getting along with our current dogs.) I heard my mom bite her tongue when I told her I got a 3rd one. I don't think a lot of people understand because they think a "normal" person has one or two dogs. I think a lot of people who have dogs just have them for the simple fact that they think it is a normal thing to have a dog. They like having the image of being a "dog person", a dog owner. They don't particularly have it because they are a dire dog lover and find immense joy from sharing their life with a dog and knowing them on a very deep and personal level.

I on the other hand adore my two dogs. They make me so happy, I talk to them like they are my friend and consciously appreciate their presence all throughout my day. I wanted another dog because owning two dogs that I acknowledge as having two unique personalities, I would love to get to know and love a third one.

Go through your cat loving life saying fuck you to all the naysayers. They obviously don't have the same gift we have in appreciating animals for who they are as very complex and individual beings.

I always feel so special when I think of dogs and cats and how they are the only animals that were made to live with and understand us. They were made for us to be our best friends. Such a cool thing. I feel so lucky to have been given that beautiful gift in life.

This is such amazingly beautiful imagery. I hope I can reenact this one day. I know I've told you this before Herb, about how I love how you gave your children the ability to experience animals. I adore and admire you so much for that fact. But THIS is absolutely the topper. It made me tear up. <3<3 You are so amazing.
