Tattoos

i want one...but too chicken to get it done..is it really hurt??...
i wanna get my star sign symbol but dunno where i will get it done....
any suggestion peeps..
oh byt he way i'm gemini so the symbol would be roman style of 2 ...

ravy1: Every individual reacts different to getting a tattoo. We all have our own pain thresholds and are more sensitive in some spots than others.. A general rule of thumb is - Women have better pain thresholds (they have to have babies out of males/females), back shoulderblade, outer arm, thigh seem to be the less sensitive spots towards tattoo pain. Arm pit, knee, kidney area , ankles and feet hurt the most. I used to work at a tattoo shop for nearly 2 years, so I got to see a lot of peoples reactions. No ink colour hurts more than any other and generally colouring in hurts less than the original outline (since outlines are single needle and deeper into the epidermis).
And for the record (there you go horse), I have about 150-200 hrs of work and have some of my tattoo pics at

*EDIT* pics gone at moment..

Yep, i have one. Its a small, green, four-leaf clover, in the inside of my right hip, about 3cm above the hairline...
I got it as sortof a good luck talisman.
plus you have to be lucky to get close to it!!!

I have an Ohm on my left shoulder- a Hindu symbol and i love it. Got it when i was fifteen and five years later i am still happy with it thank god.
I dont think getting a tattoo hurts, mine didn't at all. But i guess it depends on where you get it.
I got my tatto because when drunk friends and i made a pact that if one of the four of us gets a tat, we all have to (silly girls!!!)
I chose my tattoo five minutes before getting it done whilst a little tipsy, having never seen the symbol before in my life. Very silly idea but im glad i did it this way now.
If i get another tat, it will be of a lady bird crawling on my foot. I love em.
Tattoo's are addictive, i am trying to hold back from getting another. I do not find them attractive at all, on girls or guys. Well some can be nice... I am a hypocrite.

Ravy1: ok, this is silly, but have you ever had your legs waxed? cos that's how my tatt felt... kinda like a stinging pain for a sec, but he did it in bits so it wasn't so bad. Me Gemini too :) and considering that symbol for my next tatt.
and actually, I found the colouring in to be the worst Wazza! but I'm just a sad case cos my tatt is only about 2 cm square...
Cups :)

2 of cups: mayeb we should go togethe rwhen we gonna get it done and get them... ;-P
i was walkign pass this tatoo place today and i wa slike...hhhmmm what a commitment is a tatt but how cool is to get one....and no more than one for me ;-P )
i was either to have it on the left upper side of my back... or on my left arm ...or just above bum on the middle......any suggestions people?...
it;s just gonna be gemini's symbol like II type of thing....

hehe... it would be the ironic thing to do, go get them done together hey ;) actually my sis is a Gemini and we were considering that exact thing!
And just wait til you get one... you'll be wanting another, believe me! I didn't come down off that adrenaline high for 2-3 hours... it was so intensely cool!

I'm getting an eye on my shoulderblade
and the Japanese character 'ai' (means love) on my ankle
and a pea on the back of my neck (low down)
and a bumble bee on the inner side of my right hip.
I'm not saying what it's all about, but it's not that hard to figure out... just my whacked out sense of humour that I'm prepared to desecrate my body over :) What it means to me is commitment :)

Well thats the exact reason I don't liek to fucking post on social anymore. I wasn't trying to be hardcore, comparing dicksize. In fact, it took me a day or two until I actually posted because someone asked about how/where tattoos hurt the most/least.
I just put in my post what I have had done, nothing about how 'cool I am' or hardcore or shit.
*groan*
Anyway, back on topic
Ravy1: Yes, a tattoo might seem cool at the moment, but think of yourself in years to come. Would you want it still? A short time of uncomfort/healing is nothing compared to say 20 years or hating some tattoo work you got done as a teenager cause 'it was cool' back then.
One classic example, some guy was getting his girlfriends name tattooed on him in a pic (he didnt tell her) and he was stating their undying love all the time whilst getting tattooed. Anyway few weeks past, he comes in asking for a coverup because she had left him while he was getting the tattoo done.
*be cafreful when you get tattoos and why*
I'm not saying don't get them, but please try to put some thought in them as they are on you for the rest iof your life or until you can afford laser removal..

well one thing i know for sure is that it;s not gonna be any name or anything...cos i reckon that';s pretty tacky...but then again..that;s my personal point of view...
wazza: well i had a long think since last year and i think i want it becaus ei liek it and i want it to be there.....eventhough maybe 50 years from now (when i'm 70) it;s not gonna look as good as it looks now.....but well what can i do....
anyone knows a good place to get it done......wazz?

I have 2 already, one is a small bunch of Jasmine just above my left buttock (My mums maiden name means Jasmine in Italian) and the other one is a butterfly. I was sitting in my back yard one day, thinking about getting a tattoo one day, and a butterfly landed on my nose. I got a butterfly as a reminder.
My next one is going to be on the base of my spine, and will combine the pentagram, the Celtic Triquetra, the Eye of Horus and a couple of other symbols.

Mr wazza what is the best tattoo aftercare to use? been using protat premium for a week or so and a mate said I should use vasoline to bring out the colour(black).
thankx :)

I decided that I wanted a tattoo of an ankh when I was 18. I spent about a year looking for the right design, then about six months deciding where it should go (right lower back, about three inches above butt). The last six moths was spent getting up every morning and saying to myself "you still want it?".
I've had it for just over two years now, and am happy with. More importantly, I'm comfortable with it.
Contrary to the popular "bet ya can't get just one" thinking, I'm really happy with it being the only symbol on my body. The level of personal signifigance it has to me is immesurable.
That said, I'm currently trying to figure out the best was to get a phrase in Latin put on me somewhere...

i just recently got my first too...and im hoping it remains my only (but the chinese characters for poetry are quite beautiful...!)
...anyway...i decided on a lizard taken from a tesselation by m.c. escher and i put it on my left foot sort of crawling accross the edge of my foot underneath the smaller toes...its sort of hard to describe the position. its just an outline with some lines for detail, not filled in or colored and im going to keep it like that.
errrmmm...for why...lizards, frogs, turtles, etc...have been a big part of my life since i was little...i have much more affinity to cold blooded animals than warm blooded ones(what that says about me i dont want to know!)
i knew that a lizard design was not all that unique but i really wasnt prepared for finding out that two girls in my environmental science class (of about 25 kids) both have lizards on or near their foot. not m.c. escher of course, but still...
now the next step will be keeping it from my parents. they werent happy about the nose piercing and the tongue was pushing it a bit far and they definetly drew the line at permanent body ink. its almost obsessive compulsive...i know they dont want me to do it...so i run out and do it!

I've got 3 tatoos - the first was a horse on my ankle because of my horse and horse riding, the second is two little roses on my undie line and the third is a celtic armband around my arm. Don't get me wrong, I love my tatoos but I think its a little bit unfair how people judge you for them. I mean I am not allowed to wear short sleeves in my office because its deemed inapropriate but guys can walk around with all theirs showing. Also, last year my fiance offered to pay to have laser surgery to have the armband removed. Heres the thing, it was going to cost over $1000 over a period of 12-13 months, once session a month, and it fucken hurts like hell. The armband cost me $70 to get and hardly hurt a bit, but the pain to have them removed, I lasted 5 mins in the chair and I said no bugger it, leave it on. The most painful thing I have ever experienced (I may change that later this year after baby is born :) )
