No its not at all along the same lines as salvia. Salvinorin A isn't scheduled, DMT is. In the case above they are prosecuting for importing the plants, and they can bust vendors too. Salvia is totally legal.
 
Ayahuasca is something that should only be taken in nature, preferably in the Amazon. I can't imagine how a bunch of people could take it in a room together.

so how do you know it's not a good setting too

you ingest the same chemicals be it in the jungle or in your room

some people may prefer it in the nature and others no
