@NurofenPlus - Obviously I cannot comment on your specific case BUT even the packaging of the midified-release forms of oxycodone stae either on the box or at least within the PIL that the medicine 'controls pain for upto twelve hours'. So that's tacit admission to the fact some patients do not experience the full twelve hours. If swapping from [BID} to [TID] will leaving the total daiy dose unchanged, that SHOULD be tried before increasing the actual dose.
In the US the Sackler family made billions because all of those people for whom Oxycntin didn't act for twelve hours would simply be prescribed larger and larger and larger doses, but always [BID].
In the UK we do have a 120mg pill of modified release oxycontin, but frankly, any more than about 80-90mg/day and I don't think it's controlling the pain, more doping you up so much you can't function so cannot bother the clinician any more. Always aim for the lowest dose that works for you. If nothing else, in chronic pain, eventally (after decades) you MAY need to increase the dose and the more 'headroom' there is, the easier it is to ask for on a reasonable basis and GET that higher dose.
But don't play with the stuff. It messes people up VERY quicky unless taken as prescribed.
