As title suggests, the question(s) set forth (as per a friend's request) is:
*When taken whole, as directed, is there any noticable difference in analgesia/euphoria as compared to simple oxycodone Er preparations?
For those who don't know, Targin is Oxycodone/Nalaxone ER, in a ratio of 2:1 (E.g 20mg oxy/10mg Naloxone, etc.), it is designed to reduce constipation caused by opioid agonists (oxy) by the opioid antagonists binding to the receptors in the gut, but it also makes it much harder to abuse.. the idea is not much of the antagonist will be passed into systemic circulation if it is taken as prescribed (= oral, whole), but if IV'd the Naloxone BioAvailability will be dramatically increased, causing the afore-mentioned precipitated wd's. This much reduces the chances of medicines being diverted and abused, which is goodish I guess.
I know Targin can't be IV'd,which is fine for Me, and I'm assuming the Naloxone BioAvailabilty also increases (compared to oral) with insufflation and rectal, also fine for Me, but -
Will taking Targin as directed throw a previously-dependent/tolerant individual into precipitated withdrawals?
A doctor has mentioned Targin even though this patient isn't constipated at all, as He uses a variety of herbs/ magnesium/ various other vitamins/minerals/ a healthy diet, so it's obviously because he's young and they think he might abuse/sell them or something.
There is no fucking way He would ever ever sell these OC's after spending so much effort getting them, something that finally gives Him analgesia, with hardly any side-effects at all.
Just thought I'd make a thread as there isn't much info about these yet... so if anyone had reviews/experiences with 'Targin', please share.
Peace!
