I've been slowly tapering down my dose using poppy tea which, for me, keep me well about 12-16 hours. Consequently I have been taking two doses a day, once when I wake up (typically sick) and one shortly before I go to bed (to help me sleep, ensure I don't wake up at 4am with w/d).
Recently I took another big drop in my daily dose (I've pretty consistantly gone with a 50% drop, it's a rough but totally handlable) and I seem to have stabilised. Because I identified one of my 'triggers' (i.e. situations I put myself in to fuck up my taper) as my dose at night- because of my genuine ongoing insomnia there's always the temptation to take just a little extra just that one night, which was what got me back up to 1kg a day from 1/4kg a day (1 kg of poppy seed = 30mg IV morphine)- I decided to take my full dose in the morning and just ride out the insomnia with a little help from temazepam and exhaustion.
So now I'm stabilised and only taking one dose (when I get up in the morning), but I'm finding that I'm starting to get noticibly sick by late evening and staying at a party is completely out as by the time I get home the w/d will be too bad for me to sleep without completely whacking myself out with benzos- which is sorta defeating the purpose when you're trying to combat addictive behaviour not just opiate addiction.
So after all that context these are my question- is there any reason that I can't split dose like I was before? I'm not saying I want to increase my dose, I just am want to take 1/4kg in the morning and 1/4 at night instead of 1/2kg in the morning. Will this have any negative effects? Is being particularly sick at night simply because my body expects opiates every night, at which point I just need to ride it out until I can just take 1 dose a day in the morning?
Does taking one or two doses even matter if you're actually getting sick in between?
