Bupe tapering and curious

I've been on subs for about 8 months or so and I'm currently on 8mg per day film. I'm starting to taper down now, and I'm curious about something.

If I taper down and jump off at a low dose and go through the withdrawals, how long does it normally take for tolerance to drop?

A long time ago after I had been clean off of real opiates I took my first sub pill recreationally. I took 4mg and I got a really great all day high from it. Will I ever be able to experience that again or am I pretty much going to be tolerant forever?

This time when I got prescribed to it I had been heavily using several opiates, hydrocodone, black tar, and a few other things I could get my hands on. I went straight onto the subs and felt absolutely no high whatsoever. It has been a great tool in keeping me clean off the full opiates though. I have not used at all other than the prescribed subs.

I know I shouldn't be asking this because I should stay off of this stuff forever once I'm done withdrawing, but the user in me wants to know if I'll ever be able to feel the buzz I felt the first time I took half a sub when my tolerance was lower.

are you saying that once you get done tapering and just decide to quit, then withdrawl after that period how long will you have to stick it out before your tolerance drops..well depending on your body chemistry 5-14 days but it should be nice after a couple also when you take in higher doses ive read and experienced that it dont work as well..try around 3 mgs or lower
 
You will be able to get effects from bupe after quitting. You shouldn't do it within the first month of quitting though, if not longer, since the withdrawal is so prolonged.
 
bup is a partial-agonist. meaning it doesn't affect nearly the same amount of mu-receptors as a full agonist like morphine/oxycodone. this is probably why you aren't feeling the same "high" you felt before. for me, subs give me more of a mood lift than a full-blown high....i still enjoy some from time to time, especially when i start to crave :/

How many receptors a drug gets to is dependent on dosage.

Partial agonism refers to only partially agonizing the receptor, instead of fully doing so. This is why most users prefer heroin to buprenorphine.
