Short and an sweet, been on 70 -75mg of percocet a day for 11 months. I want a break from this. I have 20 5mg percs. Whats my best route for a smooth withdrawal. I have my fiancé to dispense my pills. What should I do?

No one has answered you and I may not be the best to respond but I have been cold turkey for 5 days now I was not taking close to the same mgs as you per day but so far it has felt like the flu. The withdrawals hit me day 4. It's like a stomach flu yuck and allergies. Runny nose, sneezy etc. I have used xanax at night to sleep but that's it. I'm also doing a juice cleanse at the same time which is probably pretty crazy.
I have read for taper go down 5mgs every 5 days but that would take forever. I'm pretty much all or nothing with everything so I choose cold turkey but may be way to brutal at your dose.

I'm just taking some time off to hopefully rebuild tolerance. My plan is 4days off 3 days on.
Good luck to you I hope someone has a better plan for you!!

I would just recommend going cold turkey. I take about what your dose is daily for maintenance (takes about 220-250mg to get me high or half a bun of good H), however I'm usually taking my opes 5 days a week, and sick for 2. I still manage to get to work, and do shit, however miserable I am. If you work, I recommend not taking off if you can. If you have to take off due to the pain, I'd recommend waiting til withdrawals hit, then taking off. Oxy withdrawals are very intense, second to only heroin in my opinion, but they are very short lived due to its half life. The worst will be over in 48 hours, and you'll be completely symptom free by day 4 or 5. Tapering will only prolong the agony. You've been high for 11 months, and you need to pay the piper at some point.

Like I said, just cold turkey it. The taper is going to make you slightly miserable over a period of 2-3 weeks. Especially since you only have enough oxy to last you a day and a half of your normal dose. I seriously advocate just CT'ing. The WD's will hit you hard and fast, but like I said, they will be over fast!

I've withdrawn from opiates probably over 300 times now. I go through it at least twice a month. Cold turkey is by far the least painful. Trust me from someone thats been there. If you've never been through withdrawal, the severity and quickness of it may shock you and think it's better to taper, but with just the moderate dose of oxy you're taking, mixed with the short halflife, just CT it. I know you can do it!

Stoched thanks for the advice, I withdrawn from this dose about twice since I started this dose. Not fun . But what you said makes sence. I'll kerp ya posted.

Hi. Well, you don't have enough pills to do a correct or even remotely effective taper. Just over a days worth of your usual dose.

option 1 is completely CT. Use until they're gone.

Option 2, which I would lean toward especially if you don't have T1's, kratom or benzos, would be to save them for evening.. Take say 20mg (you only need a fraction of your normal dose to stop w/d), say 2 hours before bed, that way, not only will your psychological craving go away and you'll be able to enjoy it, but it will eliminate the RLS/insomnia which are the two worst symptoms of WD, by far.

thats a pretty low dose so you probably won't get fever, chills and D. Just have general malaise, be tired, and have RLS/ insomnia.
imodium can make you feel a bit better, too.

if you do option 2, you'll have 5 nights' worth of meds for the RLS. After that, you just ride it out.
if you do option 1, IME, the worst is Day 2-3. By Day 5, there are fleeting periods of feeling better. It's not so bad.

I would take what you have left or get ride of them. You don't really have enough to tapper. If you ct and still have them when it gets bad you will want to take some to make it go away then you have to start all over.. The life of an opiate addict isn't a fun one. I have over 10yrs of experience in this dept.. I agree for me days 2 and 3 were always the worst for me. I wish you the best of luck
