Opioids tapentadol/nucynta withdrawal

is anyone here familiar with nucynta/tapentadol withdrawal? is it similar to tramadol withdrawal or more like oxy withdrawal?

couldn't find any experiences online.... would like to know what i'm in for when i stop.

since it's an snri as well, would it be a good idea to switch to a traditional non snri opioid/opiate first for a couple of weeks so i don't have to go through 2 withdrawals at once?

any help here is appreciated

probably more like tramadol w/d.

w/d symptoms may include:
anxiety, depression, sweating, insomnia, rigors, pain, nausea, tremors, diarrhea,
upper respiratory symptoms, piloerection, and rarely, hallucinations.
w/d symptoms may, of course, be reduced by tapering..

if i were able to switch for a couple weeks-i think i would.
i honestly dunno if that's the smart thing.
i just think i'd try to avoid the depression & anxiety
that this kinda w/d can bring..if possible.

I tried that medication and it did not agree with me. I don't like it.

I was taking it for 3 days stopped. A week later 2 days stopped and a week later 1 day and ended up with chest pains. I did not take it again. It made me feel awful. Very weird. It took my pain away but the side effects were way too much.

During that "trial" time on the days I was not taking it I took hydrocodone. I did not withdrawal.

But on the last day I woke up with chest pains and went to the ER.

In the ER I did not get any opiates and later on I had withdrawals. It was terrible. It was typical withdrawals I think. I had not really suffered withdrawals since I had been on opiate therapy.

They gave me hydrocodone to fill. I filled it and when I took it the symptoms went away except for the chest pain. I think it was Nucynta side effects.

If you have another opiate I think the symptoms will mostly go away based on my expierence with the medication.

I did feel weird for a few days I believe due to the SSNRI effects.

You are not suppose to have this medication stopped abruptly. If you feel you need to go to the ER because of side effects or what ever, I would go. This is a fairly new medication. It will be out 4 years on 02/17/2009.

i'm really surprised why so many people say they don't like nucynta. i like nucynta so much i would pick it over most other opioids.

but yea, i made this thread because i have a feeling these pills cause severe withdrawal symptoms because they are absolutely NOTHING like tramadol in terms of painkilling and euphoria. these are more like along the lines of oxycodone to me. however i do agree that this medication can have somewhat weird side effects, like if i take too much i start seeing stuff move in my peripherals, get a little delirious.

btw, not actually planning to go off right now, still have a lot of pain day to day, but i want to kind of get an idea what i'll have to go through when it's time and if it would make sense to switch to a more traditional opioid first to get the ssnri detox over with before the actual opiate detox.
